    From Mania.com (http://www.mania.com/54398.html):

The original songs and score from the 1986 feature, The Transformers®: The Movie, will return in a 20th Anniversary Edition from Volcano/Legacy this May 29th. Featuring all of the music from the original soundtrack album plus bonus material provided by composer and producer of the film’s score, Vince DiCola. The extra material provides three additional score cues not included on the original CD (which contained mostly songs, with four score tracks), plus an alternate version of the Transformers Theme.

The soundtrack is a mix of 1980s power rock (Stan Bush’s “The Touch” and “Dare” are central icons on the soundtrack, as are two tracks by Kick Axe – inexplicably renamed Spectre General on the cd) and atmospheric/heroic rock-styled synth and keyboard scoring. www.legacyrecordings.com

My comments: HELL YEAH!!!! It's about time. I've always wanted the full soundtrack and score.

Sounds cool. Whatever happened with that G1 soundtrack/BGM that was rumored a long ago? I'd buy that in a jiff.

Good point - the addition of three cuts still won't bring it anywhere near the number of tracks on the Botcon version of the score... it had 30+ tracks on it, and none of the 80's hair metal.

Yeah they one I downloaded has about 36 tracks on it. It is only missing one track that I can distinctly pick out from the movie and that is when Unicron Transforms.

Back in '00 or '01, when I was really getting back into TF, I would have gotten this without a second thought. Since then, I've cleared out all TF:TM material from my collection, so this is a pass. Good for those who want it though.

Good news! Even though I have the original, I will most likely pick this up as well.

    Thanks for the tip.

I have the original and the bootleg complete version, so don't think I'll be picking this up.
Don't they realise there's a demand for the definitive 'complete' score to be released officially? I'm pretty sure it would sell like hot cakes and someone is really missing an opportunity here!

I "acquired" the Botcon version a while back.
While it'd be nice to have the CD instead of a folder of mp3s, i'm gonna pass on this... unless they've remastered it FULLY.

This doesn't sound like the entire Vince DiCola scored soundtrack. It sounds like the old soundtrack release with a few scored soundtrack bits. I already have the old soundtrack. I want the Vince DiCola score ... all of it. Come on guys. Its want all fans of the TF:TM want. Not the same rehash with some added tracks.

It's not - the first post and the discussion in the thread have revolved around this. It's the original soundtrack plus a couple of extra bits, not the score.

Then it's not as exciting as it could be. ;-) I've got the original soundtrack release (in vinyl format, too - oh yes), plus "Lighting Their Darkest Hour", and with those two you do in fact get the entire soundtrack to the movie. And that includes the Unicron transformation sequence that Megatronwp38 mentioned. So all you have to do is mix the tracks in in the right place and, voila - the perfect 80's rock/synth playlist. ;-)

Yep, I own all of those as well (including the vinyl-woot!)... this definitely seems like a bit of a missed opportunity.

Anyone want to email me the Unicron transformation sequence MP3? Or pm a link. I would love that one to complete the score. Since it looks like they will never release the complete score again. Thanks.

I have the original on vinyl also. Great to see others here appreciate this superior format, although I'm guessing some have it for the larger artwork. Will this new release be available on vinyl?

Is there any way of getting that Botcon score today? It sounds a much better deal than this, but I'll take what I can get.
