If that is true, then I think that this is a huge slap to the fans.

They gave you Cullen, and we've heard that Welker was given a chance to audition. Do you suppose it might just be possible that they decided Welkers old G1 Megatron voice was not apropriate for a live-action movie, just maybe?

Weaving sounds like a good choice for Megatron, and I think he has the type of voice to pull it off (See V for Vendetta).

I never considered him for the role. But I like it. I really wanted Welker. But if it can't be him, I wouldn't mind Hugo Weaving getting the part!

V for Vendetta hardly gives me a feeling of pure pychotic hatred for nearly all living things.

 

I can see him pulling off the role, but IMO passing on Welker is a huge huge mistake.
Why? Because you can't have Prime without Megatron and if they cast Cullen after the fans were crying, they should have cast Welker as well. Both of their voices go together...
But lets not jump to conclusions, until there is no official announcement.

not really... he seemed like a badass for sure, but his voice didnt' make me feel "psychotic!" I really hope they edit the crap out of him, I don't like recognizing voices from someone I can put a face too in a VA role cause it pulls me out of the movie as I immediately see who's speaking and not the animation.
