Link Wow that Megatron origin mini series from IDW sounds real sweet. Makes me almost want to try and give this series another chance. At least in regards to Megatron's origin anyway. From what I read of that interview, sounds like you IDW fans are in for a real excellent mini series
I like Simon Furman too, but that interview seemed like a giant gushing article over Simon's influence. I personally think Furman needs a break and new writers need to steer the IDW Universe. Give it some feeling, some tragedy, something REAL to this war. Transformers don't come to Earth and fight in areas where there's no sustainable damage. Think Marvel's Civil War ... they finally created a Universe where the government acts like a real government, so when do we get that kind of treatment in IDW's universe?
It seems to me that we're starting to see a small taste of that. The seeds beign planted, anyway. We shall wait and see... I do agree that it'd be nice to have Furman as "story editor" rather than "creator, editor, writer, god" for awhile, though. Not saying I don't liek the guy, though, cus i do very much. Anyway... I'm really looking forward to this mini-series. Sounds excellent, but I don't like that it's only a 4-shot...
yeah, i'm not really worried abt simon burning out since hes inexplicably prolific, but we could use some young blood too.
both articles, on the megs and galvy comics, were good reads, and i'm excited as hell to get to em. BRING IT!!!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. My favorite part of Dreamwave's continuity was that Megatron was beginning to become something of an anti-hero as bits and pieces of the past were revealed. I'm glad IDW is going with a Megatron origin story before Prime. Regardless of continuity, I feel we know his story all too well. We need to know Megatron's and what motivates him. I'm so looking forward to this when it comes out.
It'll be nice to finally see what's under the old bucket, and what kind of "Golden Age" could produce someone so ruthless. Since he mentions class stratification, I wonder if Mirage will factor into the story as he's suppossed to be an arisocrat. The never told stories of several characters could be spawned from the incidental meetings in this series. That is, unless Furman decides every other transformer in the universe is Grimlock wearing a clever disguise...
