Rumors are starting to circulate that Will Smith has auditioned for the part of Transformers Movie Jazz. Will Smith has experience doing voice over work in films and has worked several times with director Michael Bay. Messages left for Will Smith's publicist requesting a comment were not returned.

thats great news if it's true. what I can't believe is that with only 4 months left thier still doing CASTING it seems a bit unproffessional to be leaving such an important point as... VOICING the Transformers for so late in the game. I was under the immpression that at a point like this all that was left was minor CG work, editing and distibution.

 

hmm i used to love will smith and he would be awsome foe jazz but im not sure I really like the idea. As long as he dosent do a song for the movie it will be ok.

Will Smith would not only be perfect for the role, it would instantly broaden the appeal. He's one of the most popular actors working today and a lot of people will see a movie with him in it just because he's in it.

 

i thought he did voice over for sharktale.

 

He was the main character.

One good thing about doing voiceover work after the movie is in post production, is that Will Smith can't demand the movie be changed to "fit him better" like with his last few movies.  

 

i called this a long time ago. Well, i HOPEFULLY called it, i think this would be PERFECT. i hope it's true!

Forget The Fresh Prince! Get DJ Jazzy Jeff for Jazz! I mean, they've almost got the same names! Plus, when Jazz says something stupid Prime can pick him up and toss him out of their base...

Seriously though, Will Smith is a good pick, even if I'd prefer Dave Chappelle.

Well i take some joy in the fact that he may have actually had to go through (some sort of) audition process instead of just getting the part because he's Will Smith.

 

I dunno, I don't think Will Smith will work as Jazz. But on the other hand, I'm not against him doing a song for the movie.

No hate for Will Smith, but I just can't match up his voice with the Jazz character. But then I'm usually against big stars doing voiceovers anyway, which clearly makes me insane.

 

Will Smith is as goofy and energetic as Jazz.
