still too early to tell. I'd be more than happy to have him back though. Maybe we can finally shed all this dead weight that's holding us down

no shit. I swear every single time there's something about Bay not doing the next movie... and then lo and behold he's doing the next movie.

Bay's said he's not doing the next Transformers movie only to do the next Transformers movie so many times it's a bit like the boy who cried wolf. I don't think anyone is going to believe it until we actually see some other directors name on the opening credits.

If this is good or bad for Paramount is a whole other question because I just don't think they can turn those domestic numbers around with more of the same darn thing with Bay at the helm and with a stronger US dollar they are going to need to do even stronger overseas to make up for the exchange rate and the lower domestic numbers.

Bay, I think you're actually a decent guy. You seem like a hard worker who's also able to have fun, and that's rare. You also seem to be pretty popular in Hollywood, if so many people wanna work with you.

But your feature films fucking SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. Seriously, the last decent thing you made was Pain & Gain, and that had Anthony Mackie fucking Fat Amy. Your TV shows are actually a million times better than any of your movies - I hear great things about The Last Ship, and Black Sails is the best pirates related thing I've seen in years. But for the love of fuck, stay away from the silver screen. ESPECIALLY Transformers. At this point, I don't care if you've got the concepts and storyboards for a Transformers movie that'd win a fucking Oscar. You've had three chances since 2007. You fucked up at every one. Time to let go of the torch and pass it to the next fucking guy.

    No surprise here.

The only silver lining is that with a writer room churning out multiple movies at the same time (assuming that doers in fact happen), he won't be able to direct ALL of them and will have to give someone else a shot at one or two of the spin offs.

There should be a poll. I vote no Bay. Less human bantering and more bot story and plot. There is too much useless human acting and lines.

Here's an idea...a kickstarter campaign to pay Bay to Stay Away!

Is anyone really surprised here? I mean, he's done this a couple of times already. But honestly I don't think he'd leave what has been a pretty lucrative franchise for him. I mean... despite what I personally think about these films... you can't really deny that they make money.

That said; maybe Bay's idiocy can be reigned in by a dedicated group of writers. OR... we'll have too many people with their hand in the pot and it'll be even worse than before. I'm having a hard time being optimistic, but at least Age of Extinction felt like an improvement from Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon.

At the very least I'm glad that Whalberg is going to return a Cade. Good human characters are in short supply in this franchise.
