Amazon.co.uk have a listing up for Combiner Wars TPB! It is listed to include Transformers #39-41 and Windblade #1-3, so all six issues of Combiner Wars in one volume! It is due out on the 25th of August, but might be sooner in the US or later in the UK as there is usually near a month between US publication and UK release! It is also on amazon.com with the same release day: Transformers: Combiner Wars: 9781631403866: Amazon.com: Books
some one needs to prop up prime on that cover before he falls over.... Still not feeling this guys art style just too busy with filters and basic art style.
When they say paperback, is this a book or a series of comics joined together (eg are there any pictures in this or is it a regular book)?
This isn't the same Windblade issues that were already released. IDW is relaunching Windblade as an ongoing series, and this TPB includes the first three issues of that.
One of my more comic distributor literate friends can probably go into more detail but .... Your local comic shop, wherever it is, gets it's comics and trades through Diamond. Amazon use a different supplier/suppliers to get their trades. I know it's Hachette for Marvel but I'm not sure who for IDW. This supplier generally delivers to Amazon 2 weeks or so after Diamond distributes the book to your LCS.
There are two sides to this. 1. Amazon (US at least) vs Diamond/Previewsworld comic shop date. New comics come out on Wed unless there's a holiday during the week. Amazon dates are 99.99% of the time 13 days after the Diamond street date (Hence Aug 25th a Tues). Going by this, if all goes well, you should be able to go to your LCS on Aug 12th and buy it there. That being said.... 2. IDW release dates for TPBs/HCs are rarely on time and this will probably be pushed a week, two weeks, a month, two months, who knows. Those who were following the IDW Transformers Legacy Art book know what I'm talking about here. Amazon's release dates for comics are best used only for ballparking. They've shipped books anywhere from a day to 5 days earlier than their release date to me.
