Well, certainly wish we had somebody else depicting the return of the DJD, as I wasn't particularly impressed by his (even not femmebot) art for the Botcon comic. I don't mind his cutesy stuff at all, but he wouldn't be my go-to for a serious issue.

Them's the breaks, I guess.

On the other hand, I am happy to see some more official crossover with the Japanese TF artist community. Loving Kotteri's covers.

 

Brilliant! Have really enjoyed what I've seen of his work (a few, er, questionable touches aside), but more than that, he expressed at BotCon how much he loved the IDW books and wanted to work on them, so I'm glad he's getting the chance!

 

Sounds sweet.   I can imagine the reactions to how Nautica will be drawn if she's in the book that is.  

 

Japanese artwork is generally always beautiful to see on Transformers. Go Go Sakamoto!

I'm not personally in love with the style either, but IMO, it does really fit Robert's writing, which even when serious is still pretty cutesy too.

 

I'd partially agree--there are some emotionally heavy moments between characters that would still fit that vibe, but I'm more concerned with when things take a turn for the violent, gory, or shocking (which, with the DJD around, I think is likely).

Who knows, though. I may be pleasantly surprised with his work on the issue, and he may prove my concerns unfounded. Time will tell.

 

I'm personally fine with this. Other than his questionable portrayal of fembots, he's a good artist, and I think the MTMTE characters will look good in his style.

 

He better control his hand when drawing fembot (if there will by any, I mean Nautica)

I mean, you guys are all hung up on the way he draws femmes, but he gives the guys downright nightmarishly awful faces. I appreciate his enthusiasm, but I just hope he's a bit more reserved this time around.

 

Apart from a few questionable choices made when drawing the ladies, he's not a bad artist and I can see his style working well.

Would absolutely laugh my arse off if he draws the DJD in cheesecake poses usually used for female characters.

 

I just hope #39 isn't an important issue at all.

 

I'm OK with this. The odd questionable pose aside I like what I've seen of his stuff from the Botcon comics, I reckon he'll be a good fit for MTMTE.

I don't mind, if only he draws Brainstorm in glorious outrageous poses. Every. Single. Panel.
