Well most people thought the effects in AOE weren't very good.

    I don't remember it....still congrats AOE.

Hey, out of all those categories, at least it only got nominated for one thing. Not that it deserves to win even that though. What I don't understand, is how that big garbage sculpture looking thing got nominated, but the Milano, or Knowhere from Guardians didn't?

    Came here to say this.

And then watching it at home on a crisp TV rather than slightly blurry giant movie theater shows how bad the CGI is.

There's one part where Galvatron is walking through the streets (I think under an underpass) with robots moving around behind him fighting and you can see he's literally sliding across the ground, kind of like an old cartoon.

Good. I thought the CGI effects in AOE were great, and the Knightship was such a cool and alien environment.

I think AOE had the best effects of the quadrilogy; it's just that the vast majority of the designs were different. The stupid drones were, well, stupid and intentionally cartoonish drones. Galvatron was much smoother looking than the battered Megatron.

all the characters looked like they didn't belong in the environment, often being lit in weird ways or shaded wrong.

It probably will. Michael Bay is Satan and all that shit.

Off-topic, The Lego Movie has to win best animation in an animated picture. The stop motion-esc CG was way better then regular CG.

TLMs stop motion was amateur, at best.

Nice to know it won some good award somehow seeing as it's being treated as the next After Earth for this year.

the credits were, and the movie tried (and failed) to mimic stop motion.
