I was really hoping for the Soundblaster mold since I already had a Soundwave, now I get him and two cassettes for $30? Sweet!  

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm still pissed that we're not getting a new Classics Soundwave because of this, but they did an awesome job on this release.

 

If I have the funds I'm so buying two of these...one to open and one to keep sealed for all eternity....mmmmm fresh Soundwave....

 

Nope, the spring was removed from the toy (just like the rest of the G1 toys) before it was originally released in America. Most likely, this reissue will follow suit, especially given the photos of the missiles. They look just like the ones that originally came with SW. I guess they were already big enough to pass safety regulations. So much the better.

Oh, and I will definitely be getting at least one of these. Probably two.  

 

Soundwave Looks fantastic. Hate the box, very cheap over the top Photoshoped effects. Less is more. Look at Takara boxes or even Apple boxes for example.

Hey, the seller's from Singapore & I know him! He'd personally delivered 4X ROTS Commander Bacara to my place on a hot Sunday noon & he sold 'em to me pretty cheap back then. Mm..Wondering why he's scal..er.. *decided not to use the "S" word* Still, nevertheless we know that it's gona start hitting Singapore soon cos' whenever that seller's list something that's TFs, I'll soon find that on my retail shelves in less than a week.  

 

I have a incomplete G1 SW I won off of Ebay 4 years ago and a crappy Buzzsaw but since this guy is coming out I may just buy him for Ravage and the better door. This guy should go well with the classics line since they are the same size as the G1s roughly.

I got Takara reissue Soundwave and Soundblaster plus a loose G1 Soundwave but I am still considering getting this one. Maybe I'll sell my G1 loose one then.

Does anyone know when this is getting released in the U.S.? I notice that on TRU.com it states that these will begin shipping on Nov 6, is that accurate?

 

Oh good, Hasbro fixed the "Laserbeak or Buzzsaw" typo from Botcon. Now it says "Laserbeak or Battle Ravage" as it should.

 

Interesting, it might be the lighting, but Soundwave looks to be a little darker than the original. Yet another difference. Hmm.

I wonder if it's collector friendly or if the plastic is glued down? Have any of the other commemoratives (Hasbro or Takara) been removable without destroying the box?

 

Yes, the plastic tray is removable just like previous ToysRUs Commemorative series reissues.

So very dissapointed. I would love a Soundwave reissue. I've got no interest in Soundblaster, I don't care what color they paint it, or what name they slap on the box.
