Nifty. I haven't been into coloring for about 25 years now, but I'm down for some more G1 calendars. I'm kinda wtf as to why they are recycling the DW art, tho.

Part of the deal with Dreamwave was that Hasbro had access to that art, and with Dreamwave gone, I think Hasbro may own the art outright. The deal was very lucrative to Hasbro, to the point where it probably helped Dreamwave go out of business since their most popular book was costing them as much as it was making.

I haven't seen IDW art on anything yet, and don't know the details of their agreement, but I'd imagine its a bit more reasonable.

I remember seeing a 'bill' for some of what DW owed after they went bankrupt on LITG. A huge part of that bill was for payments due to Hasbro. It would certainly make sense if they were reusing the DW art (which they probably have full rights to) to recoup some of their lost royalties.

While I think the calender is sweet and will definately buy one....what marketing genius releases a calender in the late spring/early summer?

TRU is carrying the poster too, but they seem to have been scalped at my local store.

most calendars released mid-year are 16-month (if not more) examples.
