Since Gobots still carry the stigma of being grossly inferior to Transformers, I felt it was necessary to start a thread dedicated to bringing back the "red-headed step children" of transforming robots in a totally new and positive light.

I feel that Gobot customs will help enhance the praise and appreciation for old toys and characters, since they've always been more of a niche than anything.

We can use this thread to discuss characters and designs as well as the sharing of ideas that can be implemented for Gobot customs and kitbashes.

TFU, Super Toy Archive, and Counter-X are all great resources for Gobot toy/character info:
    Gobots Archive - Alphabetical Index - www.tfu.info
Gobots/Machine Robo/Rock Lords and more! - Toy Archive
    Counter-X > Gobots >> Index

As for projects, I've already worked on and completed:

I'm currently working (or have at least started work) on the following:

I also found some very cool Gobot artwork (source of the attached pics below):

I've always wanted to see an update to Puzzler. That would be nice. I might even tackle this myself after a few projects are completed.

The cartoon was inferior to the TF cartoon. The toys were awesome! I used Animated Oilslick for Cykill and Universe Blades for Coptur. I have an idea for an updated Scooter.

For everyone that's done a Gobot custom, please provide links to those threads and/or galleries. I'd like to use this thread as a little index of everything that's been done in Radicons.

Excellent. I really want to get that toy. I might make another Spoons out of it, but with a more accurate color scheme.

AH man, I wrote a long post yesterday and it didn't show up. These are the ones I'd love to see:

Staks: Big Orange Semi. Some version of Movie Prime for a base. He was one of my favorite toys, but looking back on him, he is pretty weak!
Blaster: Cyb Def Scattorshot is Blaster! Just need a bright orange one. This is actually on my list of things to do.
Vamp: Any movie Megs would do...just add some antennas. I love this guy. So weird.
Scales: This is something I always think about whenever I see a race car alt mode. Someday I'll figure it out.
Zod: Although he doesn't transform, I'd like to try it. I was thinking Cyb. Cryo Scourge for a base...

For Staks I would personally go with G2 Laser Prime or R.I.D. Scourge(same mold). It would be in the same aesthetic plus be a heck of a lot easier to repaint.

For Scales, I say go with Bandai's D.I.C.E KnightRex. You can get them on eBay pretty cheap. Scales was tossed around before I eventually made http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/210517-trypticon-full-tilt-brunt.html from the mold

    Staks....yuck....

    However, I wouldn't mind seeing him re-imagined.

I've been trying to build up a little Go-Bots collection too!

My best one was a Crasher from Spychanger Daytonus, I'll have to see if I can find her and take a few shots (just moved, and I haven't tackled my Go-Bots box yet).

My FAVORITE almost-but-never-quite-finished custom of all time was/is Smallfoot from Movie Wreckage. I was going for the E-Hobby color-scheme, and gave her a two-tone-dye-job. Unfortunately I warped her back end a bit which is part of the reason why I never finished her. Mostly finished painting her though, just could never get a head that I was really happy with. My last try was the head that came with the K/O Classics-Megatron, but I never got around to adapting it to her body.

The big chest and high-heels really worked to sell the concept, especially since she was never a "girly" femme-bot anyway. Love the lack of sexism in Go-Bots :)

    Well Update-

My refugees from alternate dimensions shelf

No Spychanger Crasher, not sure where she went :/

BUT, I forgot about the slightly-alternate-transformation Move-Swindle as Red-Version HerrFiend

Not really THAT close a match, but he makes a darned-good generic Super-Gobot-Windshield-Head
