TFW2005 is pleased to announce the
Draw A Transformer Fan Art Contest. The contest is for all forum members of the 2005 Boards*. To enter, you need to draw a Transformer that you would like to see in a
Transformers movie. The character can be a new original character of your creation, or a new take on an existing character. Characters should be designed in a movie-like appearance.
To enter, simply
post a new thread with your finished design in the Design A Transformer Contest Forum. Ten finalists will be picked by
TFW2005 Staff.
2005 Boards members will then vote on the winners, with the top 3 vote getters receiving prizes.
Please join our excellent and growing ranks of artists by sharing your work in our
Radicons Fan Art Forum. Also be sure you check out past fan art contributions in our ever growing
Fan Art Gallery.

Contest Rules
• One entry per person. Please create a new thread in the
Design A Transformer Contest Forum.
• Entry must be your own artwork. Submissions for other people and/or non-members will not be accepted.
• Entry must be an original piece of artwork for this contest. Any entries using existing artwork will be labeled ineligible and removed.
• Entries can be 2D (pencil drawing, pen & ink, markers, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) or 3D Computer Generated. Sorry, no customs/kitbashes will be accepted for this contest.
• Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
• You must be a 2005 Boards member to participate.

Q. Can we submit multiple pieces of art for the same character to show transformation and/or alternate mode?
A. Yes, please do.
Q. Can Character be a "Drone" (aka troop builder)?
A. Yes.
Q. Can character have multiple modes (Earth, Cybertron, Robot, etc.)?
A. Yes.
Q. What is meant by plagiarism?
A. Please do not use someone elses artwork or character creation as your own. Any character who has appeared in the Transformers mythos is acceptable. Or feel free to create your own.
Q. Can I post a work in progress (WIP) thread?
A. Only finished submissions should be posted in this forum. Please post all WIP thread in the
Radicons Fan Art Forum.
Q. Do submissions need to be in color?
A. No. Submissions can be in black and white, grayscale or color.
Q. Can I use artwork I have already done.
A. No, all submissions must be created for thsi contest.
Q. Can I recolor a photograph in Photoshop for submission?
A. Submissions can not be created from existing images. If you are going to do heavy photoshop work, then it must look like your own image and not simply like a barely retouched photo.
Q. Can I use photography for my entry?
A. If you would like to post a photo of the alt mode ONLY, then that will be fine. It must be accompanied by your own created robot mode.
Q. Do Autobots need to be GM vehicles?
A. No. You are free to use your imagination for alternate modes.
Q. Can I do a combiner?
A. Yes, however, you must submit the combined form.
Q. Will these entries be used in Transformers 3?
A. Sorry, but it's not likely. This is a contest for the prizes mentioned above only.
Q. Can I do Duocon styled designs (2 figures combine into one robot)?
A. Yes, you are free to do so. Be as creative as possible.
Q. Can I enter if I am not located in North America?
A. Yes, this contest is open to all of our members.
Q. Can a do a heavily photoshopped image?
A. Yes, so long as it looks like your own creation.
Q. Can I recolor official artwork?
A. Sorry, no. It must be your own creation.
Q. Can I use my sketches for my entry?
A. Yes.
Q. I've been working on something for months, can I use that?
A. Rules state that the submission must be created solely for this contest. It is unfair to allow someone who has had months to use that when we ask everyone else to use new artwork.
Q. Can I submit a character that may have already been submitted?
A. Yes. So long as it's your own design, that is fine and something that's to be expected.
Q. Can we collaborate with another member for an entry?
A. For this specific contest, we cannot accept collaborations.
