AOE Deluxe Lockdown - Scar added + repaint + battle mask So I found him at Target on Monday, and was very excited to get him in hand. Despite his proportions, and not being that movie accurate, he is still a good looking figure and I have enjoyed him thus far. This is still a WIP! What I have done so far: -I took him completely apart -Sprayed him in flat black primer -Dry-brushed him with acrylic gunmetal -Added scarring above left eye and downwards under the eye -Added claw marks on chest plate -Gave him green eyes -Chrome detailing on his shoulder spikes/shells -Added orange detail inside his arms and legs to simulate his brakes in robot mode in AOE
In my opinion it's still worth getting -- good looking alt-mode, and his robot mode is still pretty good looking..just not exactly movie accurate. To be honest, the gun-face feature is the best part, and I have pretty much left him in that mode since I bought him. Still a solid figure--not the best, not the worst. He is definitely a bit more impressive in hand as opposed to the pictures we have seen
Cut the head off of the one-step Lockdown. Then hand painted it black--right now it's just sitting loose on the ball joint. I'm still trying to figure out how to make it a good fit:
Added a custom-made hook made from some extra fodder pieces. Just super-glued the 2 piece together and snapped the end into his right hand. Not exactly movie-accurate but still wanted to give him his hook:
Added Bandai Builders Parts 1/144 Gundam scale hands to my Lockdown. It came with 3 styles of hands -- open hand, closed fist, and pointed index. This modification was inspired by rovinhood's articulated hand mod for his deluxe Lockdown. There are not articulated, but I think they look pretty cool:
Relatively easy. It involves taking apart the 1-step and just pulling off pieces. It sits perfect where I have them placed--I glued them there because I chose to concentrate solely on his robot mode. I have another deluxe Lockdown to display in his alt-mode Thanks!
The spikes were easy to take off and glue. It will affect the transformation slightly--I haven't transformed him since I added the spikes, but I chose to put most of my customizing efforts into his robot mode
So huge props to TFW2005 member "char_leigh" who came up with an awesome idea for a deluxe Lockdown leg extension: using the shoulder joints from the FOC Starscream and clipping them right onto the knees. It takes a little patience, as I had to use a pair of pliers to get the joint to snap into the knee joint. So again, lots of credit to him for this idea. This was NOT my idea, as it was inspired by his custom Lockdown post here in the radicon section. Additionally, I also used one of my extra custom gundam hands (a fist) to attach the hook I fabricated. I have a few interchangeable hands with ball joints now to slip into the wrist area I cut off: Still a WIP, but here are the latest shots with the accessories I added: The hook I fab'd still needs to be sanded, primered, and dry brushed..
