It's a bit of a task..great idea though. The thighs and knees are harvested from a nameless K.O.and the hips are from Animated Snarl.Connected with Lego Technics connectors.
This is great! Definitely my favourite of your customs...it's G1 Blitzwing, but upgraded and improved whilst staying true to the original design. If I look quickly, I almost can't see that this is a custom at all. Inspiring work-it put a smile on my face today.
This is pretty neat. G1 Blitzwing is a hard figure to work with, and I can see how many compromises needed to be made (gappy alt modes, huge backpack) just to break it free of it's brick-design, but you did it, and it works!
Thanks! In my defense,I could have made some knee pads to close the plane mode completely but he took me enough time already And I didn't feel like changing the design by adding something to his chins..not to mention the problems it wold cause in tank mode
Exactly. THe G1 jet and tank modes created a sleek jet with a recognisable tank, and the the bot mode was a little goofy in execution, but great aesthetic. Why couldn't TT have just added a few bits and bobs here and there to make a half decent Blitzwing? Most of the design work had already been done.
Seconded on all counts. Maybe a nice 3P company could do it for us...Or I'll just have to add it to my list of projects for ten years from now...
Re-engineering most G1 figures is expert level stuff and often creates all sorts of infuriating design challenges (I know I once attempted the same with Megatron) and this to your credit looks almost effortless.
I really like what's been done with the arms. I don't suppose there's any chance of slightly extending the front of the shins upwards to cover up the gap in jet mode?
