Was asked abit about this so here's a quick pic thread of how I built a light up allspark from a Michael's picture cube.

    The start
    [IMG]
I then printed grabbed a fold out picture of the allspark surfaces and did some photoshopping to make it traceable

Then I put it inside the cube using a lil adhesion spray to hold it on the inside and then sealed the cube using model gue and started carving and grinding out the pattern.

Carving about 14 hours if I recall. The more you do the better the result, just be mindfull of your depth and when u feel good about it use some scothbrite and smooth all the carvings so it has a solid ore kind of texture.

Then paint, heres a bunch of sides completed.

Yeah, this is awesome. Much better than paying Universals $300+ for a glorified block.

That's really nice. What did you use to score it, a dremel or something?

That is fantastic!! What are the chances of finding a larger box like this, and scaling the design up to accommodate?

For the scoring I started with a dremel round metal grinding bit, and then took a lil metal flat blade screwdriver and ground a round tip on that too. I just used whatever worked but the scotchbrite pad at the end to soften the edges really made it look like metal ore carved out. I saw a 6" box too somewhere Ill try to remember where it was. I may do another one put cast a led cube that could be epoxied inside so when you pick it up it feels really heavy.
