Smoother than a Dinobot in Prime Ratchet's lab. "Grimlock, I NEEDED THAT!"

Anyways, onto the figure itself, how did you do the backpack mod? I don't have the figure yet, but is it just a matter of unscrewing the thing and then it comes off like that, or did you actually mod it so it looked more like a weapon's platform?

The custom looks really, really neat and you put in details I wouldn't even think of!

Once you get the figure, you will see the 1 pin that holds the back pack in place. Really easy to remove. I got tips from another customs page. Hair drier for 30 or so seconds, then push the pin out with a small screw driver 1mm. If it doesn't come out easily, then you're pushing the pin from the wrong end they said. Once a little bit pops out, just pull it out with a needle nose pliers.

As for the weapons platform...no mod was made to that. That is the whole back pack just as is. In the instructions, the shield normally sits on the platform bit anyway, so i just used my imagination :)

I hope that helps, there are so many great customisers on Radicons, I feel weird giving out advice as a noob.

    Thanks :)

Gang, either comment on the work presented or move along; it's really as simple as that. If you find something problematic with a post, use the "report bad post" feature.

    Watched the video.

Only nitpick is the head seems off.

Not sure if it is the proportions.

Or that it seemed a bit wobbly/loose.

Great paint job! I added a little bit of chrome to mine yesterday in vehicle mode and hope to start painting more of it eventually...

nice work with the detailing. If i may make a small suggestion, the windshields and windows look better in black than the stock yellow, and the covers for the windshields instead of stock blue would look better in a matching red and presto! movie accurate cab :)

Saw your Slug repaint. Just as nice and amazing as the rest. Keep it up. Looking forward to see the whole team of dinobots customised.

Oh and I founf the only one place where they sell Humbol paint. Only one. Hope they carry full range of enamel paints and dun every run out of stocks.

Enamel paints for hobby and arts are like going to extint for my country. Only maybe buy in 1 little minimum from paint shops. But i am not sure those are too overwhelming for our plastic toys to bear.

    Hi Blindspot77,
Have you tried asking people that work in Hobby Shops? They usually have awesome knowledge. I've been doing that and recently changed brands (though I will still finish what I already have). I will be using Panel Paint for my washes and Model Master for paint.

I'm not one for the AoE Prime, but your repaint really brings some much-needed life to it! I like how crisp and bright the paintwork and colors are.

    Nice job!

Hmm, very interesting, but I find your reasons to not buy stuff dumb, "hey I dont like this design so i'll not le buy it, oh no, but I can le make it better" Are you just judging books by their covers? A true artist would know he doesn't like it, and KNOWS he could do something, but the real truth is that its a toy, and some toys are meant for kids.

Design is pretty nice, better than anything I could do, besides just a thrown together back piece and himself.

you just knock out the 1 pin in the back where the entire backpack is hinged to the body. gets rid of both the backpack and side panels though.

id just love to see cheetimus post his figures up with him in full makeup.

Well, I have been asking around guys who are doing customs and most are using Mr Hobby and Tamiya range.

Well, anyway I finally found myself some humbrol paints. Seems cool to work with. So will be trying out more working with handbrushing with it.

Saw your recent reviews of Slog and Slash, they are humorous and fun. Good job.
