I still cannot get to make this work. The pin, as well as the plastic/connecting piece just won't budge. The pin and the connecting piece have gotten insanely hot yet it still won't be pulled out.

I'm aware from others' experiences that they were able to remove the pin with very little or no resistance. I've been doing this for a few days already and for almost an hour a day.

    ;)

I have one of the cheap KOs from yesteryear and its door panels arent pinned, they have little screws instead which obvs makes things easier!

Unfortunately being a cheap KO mould the posts arent very generous in length and girth so when I try to plug them into a vacant hole they dont hold on that well.:(

As long as I dont fiddle with it one can maintain a statue like erected Optimus.

For those who may be having problems with that pin. If you are computer inclined or know someone who is, get a hold of a good strong harddrive magnet and heat it up the pin with the sodering gun real well. Place the magnet just above the pin and if you got it hot enough it should pull itself out. I've used this for several deep placed pins.

Hope that helps, and glad to see this thread rezed, it's a fun little mod that goes a long way.

The floor polish technique or a thin layer of super glue will tighten that up for ya.

I used a combination of heating the pins up with the soldering iron then knocking them out with an automatic center punch to get this done, if that helps anyone. Without the center punch, it would've been way harder to do this mod.

Which part of the pin(s) did you punch? it's top (the circular part) or the bottom?

    The smaller bottom part.

Loaded up my Prime a little more Massasoit-style with the smokestacks. To get everything to fit as well as possible, I basically cut and dremeled out the stock posts on the doors and smokestacks and installed new 5mm posts; also fit magnets into each post for a little more grab on the screw ports. Can't leave this guy alone, super fun to reconfigure all the parts into various ports!

Sorry, keep bumping this thread with pics, but I keep messing around with this dude. =) Used some pieces of the constructbots set to make a weapon storage/turret arm for Prime that plugs into the 5mm port behind his head in bot mode. It can be used with either the CW Prime gun or the stock smokestack blaster. Fun bit of anti-seeker weapons tech.

Please do post some more pics of this awesome mod.

I'll have to purchase a center punch soon. I noticed that the truck's door panels get in the way of the bottom of the pin, I attempted to use a thin screwdriver before, but to no avail. Is it possible to do "punch" the pins whilst the center punch is angled?
