That is amazing. The friendly-looking face is the only detractor at all, and it's nothing compared to the sheer awesomeness of the build as a whole. I especially like your launchpad mode. Although the lynx is just really cool all around. I've seen some pretty cool Sky Lynx customs, but the bottom section almost never measures up to the bird part. Yours does though.

Is the new shuttle larger than the original Skylynx? If not, I don't see how this was an upgrade. The shuttle part that is. The base/lynx is awesome though. It actually looks like something unlike the original.

^I think it is a bit larger, although maybe not drastically so. Even so though, I'd say the greatly improved neck and tail articulation counts as an upgrade in my book. Unless I'm mistaken, they're Neoshifter joints, meaning they can turn just about any which way.

^thanks guys, and i too am still somewhat unsure on the very nose of the shuttle.originally i did plan to section off what i could from the original g1's shuttle nose/bird head and fuse/mold it onto the front of this new shuttle donor, but by the time i made the cuts for the new shuttle to have a opening mouth,i forgot about the old skylynx nosejob plan ,and said screw it.
if i do revisit it in the futrue,i'd have to remove the original mouth cannon,glue/fuse the mouth closed,do the afformentioned nosejob and then re-cut the mouth opening again.
i also want to find one of the old vintage "zip/pull strips" from the old scholl hot rod dragster toys and cut and bend it down to be put into his mouth as the teeth.personally i find the lack of teeth at the moment really amplifies the eager puppy look kraken brought up.

lolz, gotta crack an egg to make an omelette right?:thumbs2:

thanks, and yeah,i did snag him locally but not at retail.i found the set at a community garage sale up in panorama a few years ago.i originally planned to use this set for a remake of both countdown and galaxy shuttle.it just worked out this way that i have an over abundance of optimal optimus bodies and quite a bit of g1 junkers.the g1 skylynx i used for this for joints/parts/etc was actually missing the rear sction of the shuttle that flips down to let out the tail and the lynx was missing altogether.
it's funny, only the motivation to get my little girl her own room got me to finally start attempting to clean out a spare bedroom filled with "bashables" and for sale bots.that's when i dug this set out about 2 months ago and started bashin'

    thanks mang!!

thanks, and yup,the new shuttle is quite larger than the vintage.the vintage had the chrome gold engine thing in the cargo bay running the length of the shuttle body.mine has it completely 90 degrees so that in itself shows his new "girth".
i'm to lazy to go dig out my vintage complete version and i still don't want to crack open my boxed encore version so in the attached pic,i placed what was left of the junker g1 skylynx's head on his left shoulder just to show you how much bigger the new bird head is compared to the original.
thanks, and you called it,along with neo joints, theres some bionicle(certain tail sections),heck there's even some plain old fashioned lego hinge joints(bird mouth)

thanks again for liking and commenting fellas:thumb
(also, sorry for the late replies, just been busy getting stuff ready before i fly out to tfcon:rock

Fantastic. Especially now that I know it's a lot larger than the original. It's not easy to bash a toy identical, but larger. Kudos.

Oh, nice. Thanks for that last image. It's quite a bit bigger than I was imagining going off of the G1 wings. The head puts it in much better perspective. I am even more impressed now.
