Here's Swindle! the first of five overhauled characters I'm making in this set. Spent a long time trying to figure out how to make this guy happen. Do a small bit of modding... take it a step further.... Do i really want to do this... the usual thoughts. Pretty happy with the results on this guy, and i'm happy i took the extra step to make him more than a simple mod. Brawl will be next, followed by Onslaught. It may be a bit of time before they are finished. Enjoy! Gallery can be found on Flickr HERE.
Looks cool! For those of us who don't have this mold, could you describe what you did? Maybe post some w.i.p. pics for your next projects?
I don't usually post any WIP Pics of my projects till after completion, so here's some that I hope describe what has been done. First image is a comparison of the stock image of the figure to my custom, and the next 2 are WIP shots... I believe just a stage or 2 before being ready for paint.
Niiice, great work man! Can't wait to see what you did with the rest! Though it makes me wonder how these will look with that upcoming 3rd party Onslaught...
the work looks great, the paint, looks waay too thick though man, maybe water that stuff down a bit more and go for thinner coats
It's really not that thick. What you're seeing is spots where glue was applied. I had meant to go back and attempt to really clean certain parts up but got a little lazy and started painting. But for the most part in person it's very clean. The direct light doesn't help either, had no way to diffuse it. Aaand certain parts had a bit of a bleed under the tape and I had to use brush paint to fix it up. It's always been harder to paint the Frankenstein projects (Nova Prime, Thunderwing) compared to un modified characters (RTS Scourge).
this is really awesome work..i like the way the paint turned out also as it gives this comic feel to it..like you are seeing a robot walk out of the comic books
