Hey guys,

This one has been baking in the oven for a while (too long?) but with so many projects on the go some end up on the back burner.

Either way, I do still enjoy Uranos and find he also benefits from a few mild tweaks. I'm still experimenting but wanted to share my progress so far.

Okay, let's start with some sketches:



Even early on (before all limbs were released) I started plugging away at "Thigh Offsetters"...the goal is to change the "A-stance" to something a bit more natural. I also always figured he needed a longer waist.

So here are my first prototypes:




A VERY important thing to note is the hands--those are courtesy of "WuLongTi", a very talented designer who built those for Boosticus (a long story in itself) but as you can see I REALLY like them on Uranos. So those are his design, full credit to him, they are epic.

But also you can see the new thigh-offsetters and the new waist extension. Pretty straight forward. Again, I'm going for a more natural stance.

Was waiting for you to cook something up, Okay so feedback right, hmm I like where you are going with this I think something's that you can add / improve for uranos is maybe design a gear ratchet for tfc silverbolts hips? so that they get awkwardly posed in combined mode and add more notches to allow for more natural posing? Also how about an adapter of some sort to store the nose piece of tfc silverbolts plane on uranos's back in combined mode? Also last thing I think you can do personally to make this better is give them more g1 accurate heads perhaps while still being able to use the light piping? and maybe a new combiner cartoon accurate head?

Other then that good job, really excited for this PM me / update thread when sale goes up on shapeways/ more wip of new items.

Oh one last thing maybe make those leg enxtensions longer by a bit so people can paint them gold to make him more g1?

 

I'm not really into the longer waist, the design is great, but I don't think Uranos needs it.

With that said, will the leg extensions and skirt armor be available without having to buy the waist too?

Oh wow!...the waist extention/crotch piece looks most excellent with the crotch portion painted red!

 

Would this still work if Uranos' thighs were turned around so the yellow/gold part facing outward on the front?

EDIT: Sorry, meant to say, this is awesome.

 

PLEASE make a better chest for those of us who dont want the wings of uranos set. Make it cheap, make it thin, make it just plug in without spending too much time on incorporating it into other modes. Just make it!

I personaly don't care much for the skirt as it is, the red painted part could be a little taller and wrap around the sides making the white a little shorter

Leg fillers look great as is, if you want you could make them U shaped to completely cover existing and then they could be gold

A new chest option could be an option

And definitely a new head would be great by itself, I think this would be a no brainier and a good seller.

If you offered them to be baught separately that would be great too, but may not be cost effective

Agreed if there was a way to cover the whole part that would be awesome as it would be great to give them that gold/yellow look for the upper part of the leg.

 

oh okay How about for those leg pieces you design it so that if Im looking at uranos straight on that the leg filler piece's ports are more away from each other, essentially to allow the two lower legs to be more away from each other to silverbolts/uranos hips to align both legs in the same position without one pushing the other out of position, sorry for the weird wording I can be more clear if need be via a pic.
