These 'Create & Build Robots' were spotted by fellow TFWUKer Nemesispringer in the UK retail chain shop 'Marks & Spencers', he also pointed out they might make a good sub for G1 Rack'N'Ruin. The figures themselves seem to be 'M.A.R.S. Heroes' Action Figures re-packaged or licensed for the UK as an in-store exclusive for M&S. After a headswap with the more 'knightly' grey bot in pack, a modded grey bot lower leg piece for conjoining, some custom lego bits (courtesy of Firestartoys.com) with a bit of trimming & drilling to attach them and reversing the torsos to get a square in the centre of the chest, well, I'm quite chuffed with the results. UPDATED 08/11/2017: *Presses 'Play' on Tape Player* *Hiss* *Pop* *Cue Thin Lizzy* (Yeah, you know which one.) Rack'N'Ruin's take on "Get Help!" has a more limited range but is equally as devastating. I am entirely happy with Muh Boys here now, so that probably means that Legend class Autobot Rack & Autobot Ruin with conjoinedbination feature will crop up mid-TOTP to face off against the Battletrap Duo!
They are nearly 10cm (or roughly 3 3/4 inches) when stood up entirely straight, around GI Joe figure height. Rack's Anvil 'hammer' is: 1 x Brickwarriors Anvil 1 x LEGO Black Wand 1 x LEGO part 2780 - Technic Pin with Friction & Slots This did require drilling to mount the Anvil on the Wand and, of course, mounting on Rack's forearm. Ruin's is simply: 1 x BrickForge - War Hammer - Glow in the Dark 1 x LEGO part 2780 - Technic Pin with Friction & Slots Honestly, I chose the Glow in the Dark War Hammer as it was in the Sale super cheap and I intended to paint both green to match but in hand I've come to like having a bit of colour differentiation (along with the 'energon glow' of Ruin's War Hammer) on R'N'R's 'toy' form. I'm considering doing something about the handles and wand to match the Anvil's 'iron' colour and will be keeping my eyes open for some small guns that I can attach to the back of their shoulder rockets to get that thick ariel/vertical gun barrel look they have in the comics. I will update if any of that comes to pass.
They were initially £8 per 3-pack when I bought my first set (I only bought one to check out first) but Marks & Spencers seem to have abandoned the line post-Christmas season. They are listed as out-of-stock on the website and I thought I'd missed the opportunity to do this until, purely by chance, I came across a set at an M&S branch in a nearby town being sold off at £4 per pack. They may prove difficult to get a hold of now even here in the UK, apologies for the tantalisation.
I used these figures to make my Trailbreaker and Hoist taller used the shins and feet worked very well imo.
Heh. My Trailbreaker is currently wielding a couple of twin barrelled blasters from these guys as his forearm guns. Them coming out in the UK has been a great bit of luck.
The height makes them taller than rts Jazz and they still Transform with the x2toys add ons and a set of these cool little robots and a little paint they look really good and the ball jointed feet make for some awesome poseability.I posted pics of them in my collection thread on the last page.
