This was a quick project for a friend here on the forums to beef up his Junkion collection. I was not going to post it but he said I should so be gentle as it was a quick work. I know I can and have done better but he is happy with it. Back story: Kibble was just an ordinary Junkion traveling along with the Autobots to defend Cybertron from Unicron. When Unicron final fell in battle to the power of the matrix a small wormhole opened up and swallowed Kibble sending him to an alternate (RiD) reality. Upon waking in the med bay on earth Kibble noticed things where quite different. He spent hours being questioned by a bot claiming to be Prowl. This Prowl looked nothing like the picscreens of the Prowl from his universe. After several cycles Prowl came to trust and believe Kibble he was from a parallel world. The Autobots there wasted no time and using there ground/space bridge technology Prowl was able to send Kibble back home. Kibble changed his alt mode in honor of his friend from another universe. He has a custom done head, a doughnut tire on the front, and a custom chained axe weapon befitting of a Junkion. He was painted using various browns and reds and oranges. He was then drybrushed in several areas with different metals. I then inked him all over with a rust colored ink. Then I clear coated him. Not too bad for a quick thank you for a friend. The chain axe can be held in his hand or wrapped around his arm kibble as seen in the pics. C&C welcome.
Ha, "Kibble" because of all the...right... I think some dark/black washes would really up the "grunge" of it being a Junkion, but I like washes on everything. Since you already have a rust thing going on maybe sponging on some darker rust colors? The axe is a lot of fun, too.
Makes me hungry for that confectioner's peanut butter they put in Butterfingers. I just wanna pick this toy up and lick it!
I'd say this is a valiant attempt. I can see what you were trying to do with the paint but it just doesn't quite work. You wanted it to look rusted but it's just coming off as sloppy paint unfortunately. I'd think start with a base coat and then rust out some places, but I'm sure there are tutorials where people who actually know what they're talking about can give better advice. The back story, while a good way to explain the mold in a Classics collection, is a bit cliche and overly complex. There doesn't really need to be an explanation for why he has that body. A Junkion can really be anything in the fandom. So just give him a background sans universe hopping and have him always be that mold. I do really like that weapon and love original characters. And the name Kibble is dam near perfect for a Junkion. So good job on this for what it is.
I thought about adding more washes but in the end it was just something quick for a friend. He loves it and that in the end is what matters. thxs thxs buddy. You know now that you say that....... I want to eat it too...... Thank you for being honest. However if you do a search you will see I have done may customs in the past. A few I believe you even posted on. As I said it was just a quick job for a friend as a thank you for being a good guy when I was down. In the end he is very happy with the way it is and the story so that is what matters.
No problem. As long as the owner is happy then anything I say is completely moot. As for other customs, I tend to forget. Sorry.
I think this looks sweet!!!!! I get that the paint is supposed to look rust but I think I prefer to look at and embrace it as "sloppy"!!! I think that would most definitely be fitting for a Junkion paint job
I like this. You should make a targetmaster and name it bitz. Since its a junkion, it would totally work.
no worries. Glad you like it. I want a pic of it with all his brothers. Hahaha that is awesome. If I do that it would be a dog/wolf minicon. Get it Kibble and bitz like the dog food?? lOL!!!
I like the lil guy....pretty neat looking. I agree with this....a little black wash into the detail/panel lines of it would help bring out the "wear look" a little more. Still, even without that, its a cool piece.
