well right now without the head, he stands at the same heigh as universe cyclonus. well to his head. ill post a pic of the two side by side later today
Wow this is amazing. I was going to buy Generations Whirl, as I wasn't really happy with my Tomahawk/head robots custom... but after seeing this I'm going to hold off.
Damn, between my Shock wave 7 deadly sins, and now Whirl's triad I'm gonna have empurata tf's crowding my display big time
Thanks! So am I haha Tomorrow I'll be test printing the head on a makerbot so I'll be posting pictures then
Probably along the lines of this custom. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/957930-whirl.html by Split Lip At least the custom will be much easier to make soon given this Shapeways kit... assuming he releases publicly. (I'd say it'd be likely to get KO'ed though... which would be reason to hold back on a public release.) Admittedly this would be a nice kit to tweak up the Tomahawk mold... I've two of the original, and one Vortex I never sold off. Speaking of kits... you ever consider making a Rotorstorm kit? This mold always seemed to be more fitting for RS than Whirl... at least until I saw these two customs that do a great job of making it work for Whirl... anyway.
i definitely will be releasing this to the public. but i am not one bit worried of this being KO'd as not very many shape ways stuff has been. just not a concern of mine. specially since i don't give out any of my files. so the ones they get would have to be bought and wouldn't be the best quality to make molds off. i have thought about doing a rotor storm with this mold, but it would be a lot more work. completely new legs, plus new arms and a head. at least wit this kit, his add on parts aren't too bulky. so price isn't too bad
thanks! and thank you everyone else for supporting this. makes me really wanna keep at it and make this the best kit it can be.
Got to be honest man, this looks so good so far I think I will give up on finishing mine and just buy yours
hey hey hey! do not rush me haha. I'm going into my internship tomorrow where i will be printing the arms again, head, and wings. and ill post pics aw man! i didn't meant to do that! haha i would like it. but it was a pain to get the body apart just to remove the propellers. and to put the cannons where id like, it would mean splitting the cockpit, which means splitting apart the whole body. too much work for the purchaser. unless you have a soldering iron and enjoy taking out flat headed pins
