Here's a minor/repaint of the Amazon-Exclusive Age of Extinction Optimus Prime First Edition. It's not movie-accurate. I wanted to give it a more "premium toy" finish, somewhat in the style of a Japanese Takara Tomy TF figre. I also wanted to preserve most of the original chrome finish. I painted the wheels, arms, upper smokestacks, thigh and shoulder platings. I added a few details to the head. The upper torso and chest had the most paint work. I also repainted the Sword of Justice. I always liked the orange Energon swords of previous Optimus toys, so I painted it like that. I wish I did a better paint job on the flames.
Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. I didn't take any truck shots because with the exception of the painted wheels, the truck mode looks identical to the original toy. Looking back, I should have painted up the truck mode too -- especially the plastic gray parts.
The last pic is interesting! Can you make a full semi from what's left after removing primes robot parts?
Thanks for the compliment. Thanks! With the exception of the legs, I think you can probably still make a full semi without his robot parts. He's a shell-former, so I think that'd be possible, especially since most of his robot form is housed in the cab of the semi when he's transformed in alt mode.
Thanks. There's some really nice details sculpted into the robot mode. It's unfortunate that the stock paint job doesn't bring that out. But thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it. Thanks!
