You can try putting in a metal pin instead. It might be a more secure solution. However, having a pin through the center torso piece means you will have to chop 1mm off the bottom of the gun handle to allow the handle to nest neatly in the torso in bot mode.

 

Eh, my fix is working fine. When I go through and tighten all the joints it'll be just fine.

 

Is the white strong and flexible (polished or not) bright white or more of a gray?

It's pretty bright, but it gets dirty really easy if you don't seal it.
