    your work is superb
but i have to say having worked in a meltshop the past decade the metalick coloring is not acurate. Large industrial structures are typicaly painten in lively colors (yelllo red etc) for a number of reasons, this also aplays to a new meltshop (or blast furnace) but usualy the paint has ether rusted or burnet of due to the harsh conditions so i would go for shades of rusted metals or burnet/ smoked surfaces

Question. Is this going to be perfect transformation? As in, no parts removed during transformation?

Thanks for following the progress on this, here's more! ;)

Yeah but you get what you pay for, the Metroplex figure is tough, has a lot of space to work with and has limitless-potential! SO much can be done with this figure it's ridiculous.

    This is just the beginning!

For a 100-year old abandoned steel-mill, it's actually very accurate. Have you seen pics of Bethlehem in Pennsylvania? I've been mostly using reference-pics of the old Bethlehem Steel-Mill that was built in the 19th century, which was all one grey/silver color until it started to rust and corrode after it was shut-down. The newer ones are painted, but the old steel-mill builders didn't bother, everything was the same color. I've already finished up the rust-effects & corrosion on the blast-furnace & established the scheme I wanna go with, just imagine the rest of the figure with those apps.

Yep, everything remains connected during transformation! One of my main objectives was to make SURE it wasn't a parts-former. For the exception of the snake-train minions and optional/detachable smoke-generator for the blast-furnace, everything remains intact during transformation. It's not an easy task though, as the figure is HUGE, with a lot of added features on it now, making it very cumbersome. This is one of those figures you definitely gotta get down on the carpet to transform.

Wow. I'm always excited when I see this thread get bumped. This guy looks great. I wouldn't have guessed the no-partsforming thing. It really makes that bot mode all the more amazing. Your paint work looks excellent as well. I'm jealous just of your weathering skills, let alone the build as a whole. Definitely looking forward to seeing this beauty all painted up. It's been fun to watch your progress as well. Thanks for sharing; I certainly am looking forward to more.

Once this is done we should probably just shut this board down.

I cannot wait to see this fully painted, it already looks fantastic.

It was hard to appreciate the detail when it was still a mishmash of different colored plastics stuck together but now with a unified paint scheme and appropriate weathering effects it all really comes together in an eye popping way. GIMME MORE UPDATES! :D

More to come soon, just basecoated the left shoulder that connects to the blast-furnace/left forearm-cannon and I'll be wrapping up the weathering on that tonight & tomorrow, hopefully will have a pic of the entire left arm assembled & painted in a couple of days.

    :D

He'll be like that throughout, it's gonna be quite a sight to see this thing as a whole with the current paint-scheme, I'm very eager to see it take shape!

Will keep y'all posted on every step of the way, should have the left arm completed in the next couple of days! :rock

Yeah I gotta admit first-hand, it's easy to lose sight of the initial vision of a character while it's still in it's raw-stages. A lot of times, if not most of the time, I have trouble predicting what a figure will actually look like when it's painted. Fortunately I've been pleased for the most part once a piece is done, but I was skeptical and a little uncertain of the outcome of this one once I started weathering the black basecoat. I messed up & had to experiment a little until that moment when it clicked and I found the scheme & feel that I was looking for. It's STILL hard to envision what this Titan will look like all painted up as a whole, but I got a pretty good idea. What a relief that was to find the scheme I was looking for and was happy with, now I can roll with it! :rock

Titan's left arm is finally finished! Because of the scheme I chose to go with, the paint-phase for each part seems never-ending.....but totally worth it. Weathering, rust & deep-corrosion are an essential part of an age-old Titan that hasn't transformed & surfaced in ages. This arm weighs 2lbs alone, and the figure weighs about 8lbs altogether.
