Worked on my Charticon 2013 custom class Snipenose figure (non-attendee) over the weekend, which worked out well since I had a wisdom tooth pulled out the Friday before and it helped distract me from the soreness. The base figure (Generations Sky Shadow) was a very good choice it was easy to take apart and there's little to no paint rub issues. I did break one of the antennae of the custom head and had to make another one with kneadatite clay which is why it looks a bit funny. Comparison with G1 Needlenose figure: Jet modes: With Botcon Spinister (ugraded with Charticon 2013 Baleful head) and my custom Quake (missed out on Charticon Aftershock):
HECK YEAH DUDE!! That looks awesome! I like the fact that you went your own direction with it as well!
that is awesome, wish the club coulda done these, but i guess those things aren't always under there control
Thanks for the kind words guys! It was a really well thought out kit I just put paint to figure! All praise to you Encline for designing these genius custom class figures, I also had a blast making the Shawk and Pawe set, so you know I'll be down for any of your future projects!
Thanks man! Well, the good news is I have 2 set in stone and at least 4 more in the works for next year!
That looks awesome! I am still working on mine and was curios how the green would look along side with red, and you answered that, great! Did you paint the inside of the wings that is exposed when it folds out?
Dude Allew my brotha! this is hellla sicc!!! Mayne you made this figure look sharp, I digg the gloss and flat color combination!! Aye Encline take notes dogg!! HAHA!!! ;p
I'm really floored by the nice comments guys! One thing I love about these kits is that with everything provided like paint, sandpaper and brushes, an appropriate base figure already picked out, design already layed out, it saves alot of time so you can concentrate on making the custom and gives you the freedom to add your own little personal touches. Great news! Looking forward to adding to the collection and sharpening the skills. Hope to be able to attend the customizing class next time! Yes I painted the inside of the wings green as well but I intend to have him with wings tucked in since I already have Thunderwing and Black Shadow with the wings splayed out in the display and G1 Needlenose doesn't show any green on his wings in robot mode anyway. Looking forward to seeing your version! MXB you and Encline are the sifus (masters) I still got alot to learn! One of these days I'll pick up that airbrush! Thanx for always encouraging me man!
That is awesome man. I attended the class and have mine done, but my son broke my camera at Botcon and I haven't had a chance to get a new one. I wanted to be the first to show this off lol. Yours is much better than mine, so i'm glad I didn't get one upped by you, very well done man.
Wow... this works surprisingly well. The paint is bang on, and that head is fantastic looking. Where's it from? Is it 3rd party or a con exclusive thing? zmog
Yes, the head is part of the Charticon 2013 custom class Snipenose set, along with the Sky Shadow figure, paints (i used some of my own for this custom), Encline's instructional dvd "Full Figure Repaint", sandpaper and brushes. The head's very spot-on to the IDW Needlenose from RID #1 and was designed by customizer Wheeljack.
