this is actually funny because i was designing these parts at the same time as echotransformer did lol, but we have slightly different approaches....

anyways here it is, a kit of parts which addresses some issues to your crazy-devy-enhanced G1 predaking:

01 ratchet notch pieces for CDMW-36 hip parts
02 leg stopper for CDMW-15 leg parts
03 neck piece for CDMW-10 head part
04 brackets for CDMW-11 giant wing parts

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE ABOVE CDMW PARTS, THIS KIT IS NOT FOR YOU

i have separated the spikes from the rest of the parts in case you do not need them or in case you want to print the kit in black but not the spikes or in case you want to print the spikes in alumide. i will also release new parts individually for those who have purchased my kit before already

    order from shapeways here:
full kit: G1 Predaking CrazyDevy Augmentation Kit by chromahands on Shapeways
wing brackets only: G1 Predaking CrazyDevy Wings Bracket by chromahands on Shapeways

tested and recommended material is WSF polished, but you are welcome to try out in BSF if you dont feel like painting the parts in black. knuckles have also been tested in polished alumide and works well, but the spikes are abit brighter than the gray fist color so be forewarned.

but do let me know if any of my parts have issues or not work at all etc

01 ratchet notch pieces for CDMW-36 hip parts
    [IMG]
    - fixes fatal problem where the new hip joints will not support itself due to predaking's torso and arms weight, thus the entire figure tipping over and falling apart
    - dis-assembly and re-assembly required on the crotch piece. just remove the screws and insert the notch parts as shown in this photo:
    - then put in the legs and re-assemble again, taking note that the hole or "belly button" above the crotch faces forward so that you can insert the crotch plate later on. please note that some force is necessary when re-screwing the crotch piece. this will ensure that the ratchets stay locked; better safe than sorry and do not worry as it will not damage any parts in any way. the notches will be slightly bent inside, but it will not break and will withstand the weight of predaking's body
    - my predaking has been standing strong for weeks, and yes it makes clicking ratchet sounds when rotating the legs:D
    - no grease required on the ratchet joints

02 leg stopper for CDMW-15 leg parts

    - prevents tantrum from sliding down (and the whole figure falling apart) due to the body's weight when using the extended foot parts
    - just insert from the back as shown

03 neck piece for CDMW-10 head part
    [IMG]

    - purely aesthetic piece, gives predaking a neck so his head will not sink into the body as of he has no neck, especially with the lion mane inserts:D

04 brackets for CDMW-11 giant wing parts
    [IMG]

requested by lemonherb, these brackets prevent the wings from drooping due to heavy weight. some dis-assembly required on the wing backpack.

    installation instructions:
    - unscrew the 4 screws on the wing backpack and dis-assemble the backpack
    - remove the 2 orange wings out from the backpack
    - insert the brackets as shown
    - re-insert the orange wings, and re-assemble the backpack

that's it, now the wings will stay up for good. HOWEVER, the only drawback with these brackets is that there is no way to bring the wings down unless you take the backpack apart and remove the brackets.

its not much but thats pretty much it for this simple kit of parts, but a must-have if you want your crazy-devy-enhanced predaking to stand and not tip over. questions and comments are welcome

The cool thing is since these pieces blend into the figure you don't need to paint them.

Now I gotta get Platinum Predaking.

hi, the sword is created by crazy devy, king's power parts CDMW-14

it has a couple of variants, a G1 bronze color and a chrome one which is the one you see in my photo, its CDMW-14K. it comes with a 5mm peg and does not include the sword handle like in the photo. the sword handle is part of CDMW-23 predaking articulated hands which will plug into the sword (or any sword with 5mm peg for that matter

but that said, crazy devy has a bigger sword for G1 menasor which may be more appropriate than my predaking sword if you are using it for menasor:
    CrazyDevy: CDMW-19

i suggest you search online retailers such as bbts or tfsource or ebay if you want to get one; i got mine from tfsource

hopefully you know this already, but just to be on the safe side i should make myself clear that you need to have the crazy devy parts in order to use this kit; buying the platinum predaking alone will not suffice

as for the colors of these parts on predaking, the notches stay inside so they never get seen, the leg stopper is on the back so you rarely see it so it's just the neck. it doesnt look too bad as white but it will look like a shapeways part (well it is lol)

actually i did try out some dyeing the other day, dyed all my parts black overnight with RIT dye and here's what the neck looks like in black:

its okay i guess, but now it kinda looks like predaking is wearing a black turtleneck lol, so i tried airbrushing silver:

which looks better i guess....so i guess if one is going to paint the neck try silver or gray or perhaps gold....or leave it white if you can live with it; its really a matter or preference i guess

Finally got around opening up the CrazyDevy hip kit after letting it sit on the side for the better part of the year, and I've had your upgrades standing by for a few months too.

Everything works like a charm. Before I got your leg stopper, I was using a pair of trimmed glue sticks to hold up Tantrum.

I know you're not actively looking for ideas for Predaking stuff, but I do want to put this out there for when you're ready.

I'm kinda tired of the big wings drooping everytime I move this guy. I'd like to eventually see some kind of wedge that can be inserted between the orange part of the wings and the yellow back pack to help keep the wings in the proper position.

hi, glad that everything worked out well on your end; i always have this dilemma where i have this part which works on my end but no idea if it will work when others order it lol

ya, my main efforts are on powermaster prime right now, but since im slowly finishing off on him right now, i am starting to look into which figures to work on for my next projects too. and i dont mind looking into G1 predaking again since i have some requests from other members too. i cannot guarantee that i can come up with a solution but i will for sure look into it some time in the future.

im surprised there is still demand for G1 predaking when there are at least three third-party predakings out there (which is the main reason i am not actively pursuing this project), and even though G1 predaking will prolly cost less than the third-party ones (especially with the platinum version which just came out) when you add up all the crazy devy parts it will probably cost the same as a full third-party predaking set anyways....

i have not tried it myself, but in theory it should work just as fine; just that the finish will look a bit more rough than white polished which is what you see in my photos. i dyed them black and spray painted the neck silver

there are people who have ordered this kit in black strong flexible and so far i have not heard of any issues or complaints

here's a youtube video of someone with the parts assembled. the neck looks black so unless he painted it himself, he probably ordered black strong flexible as well. maybe u can ask the video poster what material he ordered.

I've had a G1 Predaking re-issue for several years and have been picking up he CrazyDevy stuff as they've been coming out.

I haven't been good at actually doing anything with them due to a combination of procrastination and a lack of time

Even my TrailerForce hasn't been transformed yet. I just ordered some of your parts for it so I'll put them together hopefully when I receive them
