Actually I'm having mixed feelings bout these 2 boys. At one end of the spectrum... I'm not too keen about building their van modes coz they're pretty plain-looking and I can't divert too much from such boring shape . I'm torn between trying to modernize the alt modes but scared overdoing them until they no longer have that G1 vibe. At the other end of the spectrum... I'm very pleased with the proportions of the final outcomes of the bot modes. The amount of kibbles are just right . I love how the legs are formed too (Was worried at first a blocky van might end up with blocky pair of legs) . And those abs... look at them . A slight regret though, not able to improve on the structural integrity any longer. I personally rate this part 7/10 because the arms easily popped out when I tried to transform them. The oversized shoulders is also a tough one to tackle. As usual... drop by my blog to view more photos. You should start selling your figures in limited numbers, I'm sure some people would pay good money for them.
I would buy these and put kreo heads to see how cool it would look but the lego heads are awesome too. Nice work!
Hot damn, these are amazing. You've won me over with these...about how long did it take from design to finish?
thanks for the support! I'm in the process of working something up with my business partners actually Ironhide was 80% done in bout 2 weeks but I had to stop to procure parts (semi-transparent window). Then I started to build Ratchet while waiting for my parts to arrive to complete it. I'd say deducting the 2 weeks "downtime".. I spent bout 1 month to finalize both bots.
The legs (hinges) are strong but the weight of the back kibbles affect certain poses that require both knees to be bent. I would say this creation's stability is "fair".
