To iterate on this, Z's appears to be a duplicate of the FE Prime head. Even with the face mask, the TF: PBH optimus head is much more distinct, notably larger vents and a mask that covers a greater surface area.

    Compare this:

If people want, I could modify the head I made to reflect the "new" look. Should not be that hard.

I think it looks amazing as is. Thanks for your hard work and time on this Zildjian. Going to order one asap and try FUD material. You have done such a great job on this I hate printing it in anything else for fear of losing any of the sharp details. Just have to be very gentle with it :)

Is it possible to make an additional piece that goes around the neck area?

Just ordered one for my BH Toxitron, I like the head you've made as is, though I know there are people that won't accept anything less than 100% screen accuracy, which there is nothing wrong with.

This is a great fix to the stock head, well done sir. I am curious though, do you think this would work for the Leo Prime arms micron repaint of Thundertron? Or, do you have any plans to make a better head for that mold, or would you even consider it?

Planning on ordering one for myself once I get a little more money. And I was actually able to remove the pin on mine without any soldering iron or a hammer and nail, I just wiggled it with some pliers through the back of his hollow chest and eventually it came out his shoulder enough to just yank it out with the pliers.

Got mine yesterday. I don’t know if it’s just me, but mine lost a bit of detail, especially in the eyes (I can’t really see where the eye stops and the face shield starts or the circles within the eyes), the lines on the face shield are almost gone and it just seems a little rough. This is my first dealing with Shapeways so maybe I was expecting more. I chose the red strong and flexible polished. It almost looks like they didn't finish the polish.

Ack.... sorry to hear that. I would send them an email letting them know. I am not a big fan of their colored plastics because of what you just said. I always stick with FUD or White Strong Flexible Polished. The WSFP can be dyed with RIT dye rather easily.

Yeah, in general, unless you're going FUD, you always lose a little detail from Shapeways. Using a fine blade to draw some of the lines back on before painting helps a bit, but you never get to full molded plastic smoothness.

Also, some of the lines may be filled in with the polishing compound. If you take a junky tooth brush and scrub it under water it may remove some of that. I always wash my shapeways products in lacquer thinner before working with them.

So, should it be smooth then? It has the same finish as the black head you have in your original post.
