Ordered! I chose the red strong & flexible polished. My thinking is that the rub points on the neck would be better off red since that's the part that will most likely scrape during transformation.

Is it hard to get that pin out? Does it require a great deal of disassembly or specialized tools (soldering iron, pin punch, etc)?

Soldering Iron is real touch and go on this guy.I've melted plastic already and he may end up a action master because of it.I'm going to try using a combination of the soldering Iron to heat it up then nail punch it tenderly.

    Thanks guys!!

    1. Nope, brand new joint created.
    2. It will give you the most detail but is VERY fragile.

    Not at this time.

Not at this time, but maybe in the future!

Cool!!!! And this is a new bigger ball joint.

    Thanks guys!

What is wrong with those joints? I like the FE Voyager one.

    Awesome!

I don't this Shapeways colors would match, but painting should not be that difficult. I have not done one yet so I can't offer the best color suggestions, but will tell you for the best results you should do the finer details first then the larger paint areas.

    Thanks guys!!!

Really hopin for the video. I've been trying to use PRiD Prime's head but I can't figure out how to get a ball joint to stay there. And I have no idea how to remove a pin.

So, heated up the pin with a soldering Iron and just lightly tapped out the gnarled head side just enough to pull it out the rest of the way with small pliers. In fact, I think it was the easiest pin I've pulled out yet on this guy.

Sorry, really bad shoulder weekend. I will see if I can get it done this evening, but honestly, if you have a finishing nail and a hammer it will be easy. Stick the nail in one end of the hole that hold the pin for the neck and give it some quick whacks with the hammer and the pin end should pop out the other side. Grab pliers and pull it out.

Encouraging! And please don't feel pressure. You've done more than enough for those who like this mold already.

The Daiso, a popular dollar store in Japan, sells them for about $4 or $5 a piece--I think I saw one as low as $3 at a competitor. Can't you pick one up a dollar store in the States for just as much?

Z,it is a soldering iron from Walmart I mentioned. It works. It's what I've been using this whole time for heating up pins with.
    30-Watt Soldering Iron: Tools : Walmart.com

I see what you are saying and I don't mean to hijack anyone's thread,I was just trying to offer some friendly advice is all.It is just the method I use for heating them up without possibly breaking the plastic in trying to hammer too hard.I just heat it up enough to give an easy couple of taps then pull it out the rest of the way.You must use caution of course.
