WOW! Awesome work sir! I really like the paint and how the figure came out! Is that the korean toy... tobot x something toy? The figure really suites Skids! I really love this! Kudos and keep up the good work!

Oh shnap, people really liked it. Well ya never know... I've done lots of things I thought were a great idea and got almost no response. Nice to see this might have been one of the decent ones. I try lotsa stuff in between commission work...

The figure was a Korean Kia Motors transformable figure. I think someone here already said Tobot, but searching any of those key words got me very little info or even pics of them. I decided to just take the chance and buy them, and was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality.

The down side is that the way the thin panels of alt mode have to line up and peg together just right makes it super easy to have parts scrape each other hard when transforming. If any of you guys plan to customize one of these, be ready to go all out on prep work, cure times, and protective coats.

    Thanks for the comments guys!

Thanks for sharing U9. These are really good. Loved both Skids and Jolt here. Don't worry if you don't get a lot of response on your other stuff. We all have our ups and downs. I for one like seeing how much you have progressed over the last year or so.
Besides, there is no accounting for some people's tastes ya know? :thumb

So much win. So much. The alt mode, bot mode, everything is the right scale and color. Worth the admiration it deserves.

Excellent !! One question... If skids were to get the matrix as a Soul , would he turn into a Sedona or a Sorento?

I'm really glad you guys like Skids! I'm going to make 2 more. One for myself and another to sell since the first one sold within 5 minutes of posting.

I don't mind when things I do don't get tons of response. I just didn't know this would be one that did get a good reception. Often something as minor as "He doesn't have his wing doors!!" can ruin everything for some reason, like the recent Shockwave I did from Onslaught. I thought it was cool but a few people said he had a bit of a thin neck. He only got one bid starting at $55 and the figure costs near that to buy un-customized, not to mention the cost of the Shockblast the head came from.
... and the winner didn't even pay.

I've been doing this for several years and still can't predict how a random custom figure idea will be received by the fans. Feels good when it works out though.
At least with commissions I always know the customer loves the work before I ship it out or post it because it is exactly what they wanted.

That alt mode is hideous wrapped in a beautiful paint job, and the bot mode is very cool... Just like the G1 toy!! You, sir, hit the ball out of the park. This is awesome. Lacks the door wings, like you said, but... meh. It works for me.
