Hey everyone use this thread to show some of my works in progress and some basic modifications. A while back I took a break from customizing Transformers and decided to try my hand at customizing action figures. My skills in customizing action figures have slowly been growing little by little. Here is a link to some of the custom action figures that I've made. And here are some older TF customs: Animated Grimlock (Metallic) Animated Grimlock (Cartoon) Classics Animated Bulkhead Armada Megatron iGear Swerve Year of the Horse MP10 Optimus Prime repaint Classics Smokescreen Classics Prowl Wheeljack Stormcloud Classics Nemesis Prime Stormcloud Optimus Prime - Hybrid Movie/G1 Classics/RID Ironhide Optimus Primal (Bat) Classics Optimus Prime Classics Grimlock W.I.P. Classics Scorponok Here are some of my current works in progress. I have never been satisfied with any of the Hulk figures that have been made thus far. The Marvel Legends look great, but they are too small for my since of scale, and the Marvel Select figures have been to large. So I decided to make some Hulks and other Hulking characters using the large DCUC CNC parts. I sent my DCUC Brimstone fist to Black_Arachnis to have a few sets cast for these customs. The characters that I'm wanting to make are Hulk (Bruce), Red Hulk (Ross), Skaar, Planet Class (Ultraverse Villain), Juggernuat, and The Pitt. But I may make some more Hulking character later on. Mind you it may take me a while to finish these with gathering all the necessary parts. Here is a little test fit on the Red Hulk's new arm. First off I started with a pair of KO Red Hulk arms I bought off eBay, then I modified the Validus shoulder peg with my Dremel to accept the Red Hulk arm. I think they are going to look pretty good on the Validus body. What do you all think?
Here are a few more pictures of the Red Hulk with the second arm fitted, and what will be his new feet.
Here is a couple of pictures of the modified shoulder pegs to accept the Red Hulk biceps. There is plenty of material left so I don't have to work about the peg being too weak to support the biceps and not to break under normal ware and tare. And here is another test fitting of all the parts. I also modified the and combined the Planet Hulk/Validus foot disc to accept the new feet. Here are the parts after being cast by casting cave.
I'm kind of in neutral for now on my Hulks while I'm still trying to get all the parts that I need for them, so that finally got me to get back to work on my Gladiator figure. So far he has a DCUC Jemm torso and shoulders, Martian Manhunter biceps, WWE forearms and fist, Superman belt, ML Mr. Sinister lower body. For the head I'm using a ROML Drax with the Mohawk from a DCUC Omac, and I sculpted the rest of the hair. I smoothed the sculpted lines on the Sinister thighs and modified the waist. The main thing left on the body is the triangle logo on his chest. Then I can sort out what to do about his cape.
These will be the start of two more Hulking characters the Smart/Professor Hulk and Ironclad from the U-foes.
It's Prime Time! Well... "It's Prime Time!" Back in the 90s' I was huge fan of the Ultraverse comics, and I've started making some Ultras for my collection. One of the Ultras that I'm wanting to make is my favorite Prime, so I started to gather some the parts to build him. That last part that I was looking for was the perfect head. When I first saw the Hyperion head I thought that is the one, but to my dismay it was way too small. But after finding Glassman's web site he was able to enlarge Hyperion's head to the scale that I was needing. This weekend I got my enlarged Hyperion head castings now I can get back to work on my favorite Ultra Prime. I think I'll probably end up with all three versions; First Appearance Prime, Rogue Prime, and his final costume similar to his first with blue stripes on his legs and cape with a little touch of Rogue. I still have a lot of work to do on them, and I'm still trying to find the best forearms and hands for the Prime on the Terrax body.
you know, customizing a tfer is totally different than one of these guys...Tfers have screws and pins, but regular action figs can really be a pita to custom, and I give a lot, and I mean a lot of props for those like you who can do it. That said this is some damn fine work you have going on here...Kudos and Envy
Well TF kitbashing use to be the only customs that I use to make, but I thought I would take a break customizing Transformers for a while and try my hand on custom action figures And thanks.
Thanks, Sludge is on my list too, and another of my favorite Ultraverse characters. I already bought the base for him a Movie Masters Kilowog, but he will require a lot of sculpting to pull it off. I got the idea for the base from a cool Clayface custom I saw over on figure realm.
Since taking a break from TF Kitbashing and working on custom action figures I've learned a few new techniques I'm going bring into my Brainstorm that I started a long time back.
