Movie 1 Megatron's plane mode is great, but the robot mode looks awkward, and I think the reason is because of the short leg and big foot. So this is the guide to address the issue. In doing that I hope we will have a better Movie version Megatron.

From the picture below, u will see why I said the leg and foot are the issues here.

    1) Take the legs apart. Note: There is a metal stick at the back, use nail and hammer u can easily get it out, only thing to notice is follow the direction on this picture to get it out.

    2)each leg has these parts
    [IMG]

Part 1 and 2 combine can form a high heel shape which greatly increase the height.

3)However that's not enough, I will use part 3 to form the new toes, which will also make Megatron stand easier.

Part 1 is formed with 2 small pieces, on the piece without the long pole, as shown in the picture below, drill a hole on the red circle area .
After this, on part 3, the existing hole, which holds the metal stick before, drill it to get a same size hole as part 1. So that same screw can pass.

    4) This is the screw nut and screw I used.

    5) Now fasten the parts 1 and 3, and ready for the final assembly
    [IMG]

    6) This is the finished shape of the leg
    [IMG]

Now let's look from the side
    [IMG]

    another view, high heels.

    From the back.

    Now let's compare.

Megatron: Are we really the same guy?

    Taller than ROTF Megatron now.

Even taller than Movie 2 Leader Optimus Prime

    3 together
    [IMG]

In alien plane mode, as u can see, no big impact on transformation.

    closer look.

Megatron: Finally we can have a peaceful chat, Optimus Prime.

Definetly taller, but the feet become inaccurate to the original design and film. Perhaps this idea would go with a Leader Shockwave custom since the front piece of the feet from this mold are swapped. A terrific mod, definetly will keep this one in mind ;)

How on Earth did you figure that out?

Nice work, I love the extra height. I'm gonna try it. Looks like you can go back to stock, right?

thats a great mod! but maybe creating a new middle section for the foot, that resembled the old one, from styrene would add to the movie-accuracy?

Heh. Giving Transformers Screamer's stilletoes? This is pure genius. Gotta try it on one of my 07 Leader Megs.

I'm thinking about make the toes bigger using some other parts, since quite a few people said the feet look too small right now. :D
Looks like I have to dig using some other extra parts, which I was trying to avoid in the first place.

Actually he stands better than before. I was surprised too, I guess because the original ones has grimmick (spring) in the feet, so the original one is hard to pose well, always lean forward or backward a little bit. But after the change, it's very hard feet, so just find the right position then he stands well. As u can see from the pictures, no support and he stands well.

Great mod! I'll be doing this to my Megatron. I've always hated how he's shorter than ROTF Optimus Prime, but not anymore!

Great mod design. Love the new hight on him now.

One idea you could do to mask the movie design is to have a second set of front pieces, maybe a cast copy and put them in place of you front toes and put them twoards the back heal, drill a hole in the heel and put in a pin for the back toes so your heel design still supports the new hight, the back toes just acts as additional support and movie accuraccy.

I've given this mod a try but the pins holding the back of his feet in won't budge... and I've tried it with both my regular and Premium figures. Any suggestions?

Can you by chance do that 1st Movie Leader Class Megatron foot upgrade? If I mail my Megatron out to you to do the mod, and then you send it back to me, and I pay you, could you do it? Or just do it on a separately different one you have, and sell it to me for money?
