Alphaplex is the future incarnation of Metroplex , who suffered almost-fatal damage in one of the massive Decepticon attack. With the help of advanced Cybertronian technology... he is upgrade to become a massive spaceship and is bonded with a minion Duobot, a robot that splits into a tank and an jet plane. No longer the slow and plodding land-based Autobot , he now travels through space hopping from one planet to another seeking and wiping out whatever Decepticons he found that once collectively almost sent him to his doom.

Ok lemme just stop right there since I'm no expert in fanfiction, and it took me a while to give a proper name to this LEGO MOC .

Even though I'm a fan of everything "base mode", I have always been critical on good old Metroplex vehicle mode . That's why I was hesistant to get him (reissued version) even at a handsome discount. He can be more if they toy designers put more thought into it. Having platforms and ramps all over doesn't mean they must always translate to squarish and blocky robot. After observing and cleaning dust off some of my LEGO parts.. I noticed there are some big sleek parts which never seemed to be able to be utilised at all. Time to make a move.

Man this is freakin fantastic. That first shot of his bot mode literally made me go 'holy crap! Woah!!' out loud. He looks so cool. And the fact that you built transformation into it is a cracker. Last year I did a custom kreo-o (large set size) optimus prime to actually transform, and coming up with the transformation nearly killed my brain, so huge props to ya! How satisfying is it achieving the goal hey.

    Damn he looks rad.

thanks. I'd be better off sticking to Kreo's official sets if I dont make mine transform without diassembly. Im having fun figuring out the transformation but I must admit prolonged project is a bit of a drag though.

This really needs to be an offical lego set. Amazing work planning out the transformation. Must have been hours of work getting the triple changer to work so beautifully in each mode.

Maybe submit it via Lego CUUSOO. Tough to get all the way through the process, but cool if you do.

Insanely good. Most human's brains are just not able to work out something like this. I find it difficult (and time consuming) enough to figure out some Kreon Microchanger customs, but this is totally Mensa.

You must have a huge pile of Lego at home!
I keep wondering if there is a way to order specific parts from Lego or Kre-O. It doesn't often work out that one has just the right pieces in just the right colors at home.

I'd like to place an order with Lego & Kre-O for a couple of big bags of parts I need, but am unwilling to buy several big sets to get (sometimes I can't find the proper colors in any set!). Anyone know if this is possible?

Difficult and time consuming... yep.. and obvious passion (like every other customizers here) that drives me. Im sure pure geniuses would've gone much further compared to what I did.

The benefit of using LEGO as medium that I can repeatedly perform trial and error until everything fits (and blew a few hinges/balljoints).

Well im suprised you haven't been made known bout bricklink.com, arguably the biggest marketplace to buy lego parts. Harvesting parts from official LEGO sets is not an economical way.

And oh yes..... I was mentioned in this wired.com article (just noticed after I found out why my blog traffic surged suddenly)

Nice to see you getting the media coverage. I've checked out your blog several times. Incredible stuff on there. Snapdragon, Sandstorm, Sunstreaker... all awesome.

Thanks for the bricklink.com info. After a quick browse on there I see that there are quite a few stores in Taiwan. Thanks to you, it seems that I'll be able to get the parts I want sent to the 7-11 half a block away.

So, if you get enough votes on the Lego site, your work could get made into actual Lego kits, is that how it works? If so, tell us all here exactly how we do that.
