BREAKING NEWS: YOUTUBE VIDEO PREVIEW! :D
WIP: Masterpiece Reflector (Electronics & working flash) - PREVIEW! - YouTube

Well first of all not sure how far I will got with this one,
obviously the current heads suck ballz...
And I don't give for the weapon gimmicks, atleast not all!
So I already sacrificed to put electronics in the Flash :)
Also the lens has a powerfull led and will go on when u close the gimmick..
O and just simply put in a lego piece to kinda resemble a shutter/thingy ;)
I know 1 or 2 peepz here have made some extreme mods, I prolly won't this time

I think I will go for the cartoon paint, although I might use toy colors (make 2nd)

    C&C Welcome + N'joy! :D

    UPDATE1:
Modified all 3 faces + added longer neck + articulation...
(when I wake up I might do the feet!)

    UPDATE2:
Resized the lens, thought it was way to long for my taste..
still opens the same way, maybe I'll make the centerpiece an add-on!
(so It can go back 2 long zoom lens size)
Also added a picture better showing how easy it was to articulate the head:
-balljoint can be removed or pressed up & down, so it might function as a button
-head fits perfectly with friction & thus can be moved freely almost 360 x,y,z
The leftover parts will hopefully form an automated turret etc.

    UPDATE3:
Wow never thought scratch building was so much fun (but time consuming!!)...
took me somewhere between 1-2hours just to perfect this small part :)
Anyways the good news :D  All the arms are the same, so just copying it 5 more times feels like cheating ;)
after that I'll be doing the shoulder parts as well as the upper legs!
(wish I can fill in the back of the lower legs to, but the arms store in mostly during transformation :(

BTW just wondering if I finally make the perfect fit for a to fill up parts...
someone with the 3D (measuring) skills, could offer a Shapeways kit??

    UPDATE4:
So all the forearms are filled, again was really fun to do...
might really gonna be trying true scratchbuild after this project!
anyways still love it and thus my hart currently still belongs to kitbashing :p

EXTRA: and again a scout out to the Shapeways artist,
this can be a great addition... after all the 3 figures are the same ;) ]

    UPDATE4B:
small update the most difficult parts of the 3 sectioned upper arms are done!

    UPDATE5:
All the arms are done, lower legs are done....
only the bl**dy upper legs (6x) arrrggghhhh left :p

    UPDATE6:
Last update for today, phewww 12hrs straight my record :D
3 upper leg pieces done, meaning 3 left and thus 1 figure completed :p

    UPDATE7:
for now the build is as good as done...
even managed the leftover part to form a camera/turret.. something ;)
only view details here and there and then it's of to paint!

    UPDATE8:
Simplified the blaster(lens) electrics, now with micro switch..

    UPDATE9:
    F*ck these KO's break like breakfast crackers :( ...
anyways drilled a hole right through the 2 balljoints, inserted a nail and glued!
(I did the same with the other 2 figures, just to extra sure it wouldn't happen)
Using acrylics, custom mixed Citadel Pink with Citadel (G1 Hotshot) Blue :)
What do you guys think of the test coat?? (looks better IRL btw)

    UPDATE10:
Don't mind the bad paint silver on the inside of the chest,
I still need to find or prolly mix the right green :)
1figure done, all legs painted... just 2 torso's and arms left to do!

    UPDATE11:
Only the silver arms on the last 2 figures remain..
    after that touching up etc.
(sorry about the picture this 1 is really dark and grainy :( )

    UPDATE12:
small update, did some color details... what do you guys think?

I'd go for cartoon paint job ! I hope your saving up some money to work on this one , it's 3x more expensive than the average custom !

Now, if say Reflector was a life-sized Camera when combined and looked show accurate on top of that.

    That would be beautiful.

None the less, this looks great for what it is and what you did. but IMO MP quality it isn't at least...not yet. ;)

It looks promising though, can't wait to see it completely finished. :)

^Well to me(not that it matters what I think) MP has to have a couple of things G1 alt and bot mode for starters , articulated very well including the hands and SIZE/scale...which in my opinion they have been screwing up lately (IMO) and high quality..... so to me G60 is on his way too a MP reflector.

I hope I'm not sounding like a dick , just voicing my opinion....

I think your idea of having someone make some shapeways parts to help beginner customizers do this to their own is a great idea! Hope you get someone to help you with it.

    Looking great so far.
