So I wanted to make Vortex look more G1-like, and decided that most of that red needed to go. He's not finished, but the pics should give you and idea of where this is going.

Started off by modding his backpack to move his rotor section there.

    Then silver paint..

Nice mod, can you provide details on how to move the rotor?

Thanks. Sure, first to remove the rotor section, I used a small phillips head screwdriver to push the post from the rotor section out and it pops right off. Now, as far as the back section goes, I marked a spot just underneath the very top screw of his backpack and then cut a hole with a knife, kept checking the size of the hole to make sure the peg would fit, which it did. Took all of 5 minutes at most.

Pretty cool, a bit shiny for a Vortex but still nice.

I'm actually quite surprised how good that mold looks with simply a swap from neon red to silver. You do need to repaint the hidden section of the elbow for combined mode. But that tinge on the chest works.

Its very simple, but you are permanently putting a minor hole in his back, so just be careful about it and it should work out fine.

Thanks. I was going to go with more of a flat grey, but I thought the silver would pop more and it does.

Same here, the change in color on this mold looks great and leaves a lot of room for other characters. The elbow section will be painted as well, either silver or purple, not sure which yet. Also, trying to figure out if I should make the windows black, purple or a teal-ish color. I don't want to do black, mainly because of my next repaint of this mold will have black windows...

I've been thinking the same thing about the colour on this mold. I really like the mod you did I'll have to try it out too. Thank you.
