i have always hated the legs on this mold. so i slammed together fall of cybertron optimus prime and Asian kung fu generation springer. i'm very happy with the results. i just need to paints the legs a emerald green like the original springer legs and it'll be awesome. i didn't need to mod the springer half much. i only sanded away the mini clip connection points. also i shoved the wheels from prime into the launcher crosses. most of the modification is to the prime legs. just a bunch of material removal to make things collapse nicely in the 3 modes final update painted the head, forearms, shoulders, knees, back of knees, the tail of the helicopter... Well played sir. Well played. I also enjoy some of the other triple-change variations on this mold, but this one is simple, and gives Springer some necessary bulk. I like it. zmog
if i had this toy i would do the same... cool! only thing I would do is change the wheels indeed a sandstorm isn't far away
I'd say with the right paints this would be far more appropriate! Someone do this ASAP! XD Something not using those legs... there's been quite a few mods showing prime with Perceptor's legs to make a pretty good Snowcat (from the Energon Series). Think I've seen him with Warpath's and a few other bots that seem to work quite well. Either way... simple yet clever mod for Springer... does make me think it'd make a better Sandstorm, as Satomiblood noted.
Do you have a DOTM Whirl? Those Springer legs can pop on without any mods, though some clear coat may be necessary if they're loose (YMMV). Anyway, you'd have a great base for a mech-based Transformer.

nice but the lime green now need the same green (or and more yellow to the green paint) really like the beefy legs he has now!!
YAY!!! Someone responded. Thought my update was gonna get lost in a sea of insecticon customs. I see that. I was hoping that since the original legs were only green and black, that this would turn out as good. since the legs are more beefy the lime green and regular green start to really contrast. I just hate painting, that why I didn't try doing more. This is my first time trying to paint a figure, it's a bit of a headache figuring painting out.
