Arms Micron Scout: Thunderbeak

I loved FakeEyes22's creative discovery (Thundertron: Micron THUNDERBEAK!! (and sword mod)) that Thundertron's claw sort of looks like a parrot if positioned the right way, and the name he gave it, so here is my custom version of that character.
It really adds even more pirate to Thundertron's look and its a much cooler use for the claw than an arm attachment. All he'd need is an eye patch to be 100% cliche pirate as hell now!

I sculpted in a spot under the foot, attached to the (heavily scored) circular part that rotates as Thundertron's ankle. I had to make sure the sculpt filling still allowed good ankle movement, used an exacto to make sure the sculpt was barely apart from the inner sides of the hole in his foot it filled so it would come out later, then let it cure. The next day I just pivoted the ankle to expose the sculpted part, cut grooves on the sides of it, added styrene feet, cut grooves in between the gold claws for the new bird legs to rest flush with the bottom in foot mode, and added a final layer of sculpt to hold the new bird legs and belly together. The last mod was to cut away and sand the peg into a parrot beak shape. A little paint work later and he was done.
Done for my own custom detailed Thundertron.

(I know this isn't a huge scratch build project, but what I did to the bird was more than a repaint...)

Did you do anything special to make that sword from his mechtech weapon, or did you just de-attach the blade and paint it?

I detached it and sculpted a new handle.
