Well, heres hoping I'm not up for one till Feburary, cause I'm kinda short on cash till tax time. But seriously, this looks awesome and I'm seriously looking forward to my eventual PM!
Hey guys, my life is starting to get back on track. I finally got a (awesomely incredible) job but I'm still looking for a car. I'm really, really, really, really, really hoping to have one this weekend. In the meantime... I've been slowly getting back to progress on the PRID Optimus Trailer, which from hereon I will affectionately refer to as L3D-01. This process has been a blast and I hope to do more projects that I can share with some of you. I have learned a TON from this one project and the limitations of a 3D printer, which I constantly push. I still believe that the perfect combo will be 3D printed master copies which then get cast for duplication. I do not think casting will be a part of L3D-01 but I am researching it for future projects. (yes those are all the pieces to make the trailer at the top) You can see from the pics I have the wheel assembly done. I just need to tweak the wheels themselves a bit. Both sides frames are assembled. They're thin because of the panels I made for the exterior detailing which makes the thickness perfect. The right side panels are done. The left side shows the hole pattern where the panels attach. Initially I was using acetone to adhere the plastic pieces to one another. I'm now trying Plastruct Weld Cement. Seems to be doing a good job, can't say at the moment I can really tell a difference. I hope everyone enjoys!
