I used his knee joints, elbow joints, shoulder joints, thighs, hands, and the main wings nearly in their entirety including the back panels they're connected to and the hinges (yes the old, non-breakaway-safely ones). These parts were repainted to match, but should any paint chipping happen, there's a near-identical color underneath. Plus, I really wanted to keep the wing stripes from the Hasbro version since they were so beautifully painted on. The rest of the parts are Hasbro's Thundercracker. For the color scheme, I wanted to go cartoon accurate (for the most part) to match Starscream and Thundercracker (after I made some adjustments to him as well.) Tamiya Metallic black was used for the main color, as well as Semi-gloss black for the thighs, joints, and other robot bits. The grey is a custom silvery grey, while the purple is a custom mix of Tamiya Purple and MM silver, its got a lot of metal flake not quite seen in the pics. I wanted the Decepticon logos to be decals, to have the painted on look, but I wanted a silver border...and of course my inkjet can't print silver. So i sprayed some decal paper with some MM Silver, and then printed the 'Con logos on clear decal paper. After that, I just cut the silver painted decal paper to shape, applied it, and then applied the clear logo on top, worked excellent! Anyway, onto the pics! ![]() |
