    UPDATE: 10-31

If you have been following this thread, you are probably aware that there was an issue with "SOME" of the "Oracle Heads" being able to print at Shapeways. The large majority, about 95% of the orders, had "no" print issues, as some of you already have your prints. The two that did not receive were given credit or refunded by shapeways. With regards to the issue, Shapeways utilizes different Print houses to create their wares, one facility that received two orders were unable to print the file. I have since removed all files with the design and have made the necessary corrections that did not allow it to be printed. As of 10-27 an order was placed to confirm the file can be printed. Although it usually takes Shapeways about two weeks to complete an order, Tropical Storm Sandy has put an additional week delay on the test print. I expect to receive the reprint by 11-20. In this reprint, I made some additional superficial changes to the model ie. making the lips more defined for ease of paint application, increased the size of the ball joint for a tighter fit on the toy and eliminated the gap between her brow ridge and her crest which caused the initial print issue. In addition to this reprint, I have included the final test print of three other models/characters which I hope to share with you. If you have any question, please free to comment or pm me and I will be happy to assist you. Thank you. -Tecrom Designs

    Hi Folks,

I'd like to introduce you to Oracle the fifth installment of my new line of characters-the previous being Tempest,* Metal Head,* Apex,* and Pit-Stop.* She's somewhat of an homage to a certain character that I thought a lot of fans would like. The Oracle Add-On Kit may be used with the Transformers Prime RID Arcee or any figure that can utilize the 4mm ball joint located at the base of her neck. The TF Prime RID Arcee, if used with the Oracle head, will remain transformable. Please see pictures below.

If you're unfamiliar with my threads, my goal is to create a new Universe called "THE VIACONS." Here's the log line.

“The VIACONS are a long lived race of techno-organic beings that reside on the sentient world of VIACON 1. Recently emerging from a millennia long war that decimated much of their population and leveled their once great cities-the Viacons seek to rebuild their Empire and restore it to its former glory. During the Great Viaconian Wars, much of their population were scattered across the quadrant, existing in small pockets of lawless outposts throughout the system. In the new order, the Viacon Republic and its Senate, have sought to reunite all Viaconians back into the fold. However, an ancient enemy, long thought extinct and only spoken of in myth, has made a silent return. Cloaked in secrecy, the Tecrom have infiltrated parts of the Senate and have begun undermining the foundation of its rule. The few who are aware of the threat have formed a clandestine resistance-systematically recruiting into their ranks, those who posses unique qualities that will aid them in their struggle to expose and ultimately drive out the Tecrom."

    NAME: Oracle
    AFFILIATION: Viacon Resistance
    POSITION: Femacon Communications Officer
    [IMG]
    ORACLE's BIO:
Oracle is the youngest member of the Viacon Resistance. She was accidently discovered by Metal Head in a hidden stasis chamber, while arguing with Tempest about proper demolitions protocol, on an off-world scrap yard that was suspected to be a front for a Tecrom weapons depot; they had been tasked with destroying. Immediately taken by Metal head’s off color humor and transparent charm, the naive fembot developed a huge crush on her would be hero. However, the attraction was not mutual as he and Tempest viewed Oracle as a younger sibling unit. Left with no memory of her past and believed to be an innocent victim of her captures, she was deemed a non-hostile and allowed to remain with the Resistance, in fear that her release would bring harm to herself and compromise their operation. Tempest and her fellow Femacons were charged with guardianship of the young fembot. As its newest member, Tempest immediately began training Oracle as one of their own. Too young and inexperience for special outbound operations, Oracle was initially assigned monitor duty of field communications. But it was not until one particular mission that had gone seriously south, that she gained the moniker “The Oracle”-a title that in ancient times, was bestowed upon one of three female Viacons; a White, Gray and Black Oracle, that together, had the ability to awaken and some say, command the living planet in which they reside upon. It was on this mission that Metal Head almost lost his cover and quite possibly his spark- that a very distraught Oracle was witness entering a trance- like state, where in which she was able to remotely manipulate the state controlled power grid in and around Metal Head’s position. Miraculously, she was able to bypass any and all security measures put in place, ultimately allowing Metal Head to escape. With the demonstration of this previously unknown ability, the Resistance has come to see her as one that could turn the tide in their favor. However, with such as a display, word of her ability has not gone unnoticed by the Tecrom, who also possess an “Oracle.”

I would love to hear what you think about Oracle's bio and design or what you might have on your mind. I look forward to you questions and comments and will make sure I answer all your questions promptly. Thanks for looking.

    Cheers!!

Amazing head, as with the others, wish I had the funds to start some of my projects, as I would definitely use this head. Do you have any painted, and also what would you recommend as the material type?

I Second this! (but TECROM knows that..) having the head be able to work with the FE mold, would mean you wouldn't have to repaint Arcee pink (if you already have NYCC FE Arcee!) so yaah.... TECROM PLeeeaase make a retool of this!

....that's probably one of the best G1 Arcee heads I've seen produced. Too many groups keep getting her head wrong, and I don't get why. This is going to be popular for more than just that one figure, I think.

That was definitely a great choice to add to your projects. And very nicely done!

Thanks man. I take that as a HUGE compliment. And I'm totally humbled by it, as I've come across a lot of beautiful designs based on that character. I put quite a bit of care and a lot of effort in designing her since I'm a big fan of female robots. I've always believed that a really good collection needs to have a decent amount of Fembots or as I call them, "Femacons."

Oracle's design is, as I mentioned, a nod to another character. It was difficult to get a good balance of what I wanted to do and what TF fans wanted to see. In order to give her a sleeker look, I tapered her ear muffs. I also needed to differentiate her by giving her a plate at the base of her skull, but not to make it so pronounced as to take away from the profile I wanted to maintain. The overall shape of her helmet is also not as spherical as the other, with almost an organic bell shape. Finally, since Oracle* is suppose to be the youngest of my characters, I made her wide-eyed and rounded out her facial features when compared to Tempest*, who's suppose to be a bit older. I really knew that I had to get this bot just right, for both myself and the fans of the other character to accept. I think I accomplished this, since a lot of you seem to like her.

Gorgeous Arcee head man! Gotta get me one of these! :thumb

On a side note, what is the best material to get this in for high detail & least amount of cleanup on the sintering layers?

I'll chime in... that is an excellent Arcee head... definitely one of the better sculpts I've seen. However... I'm thinking that this will likely be too small to fit on an Animated Arcee, right? :(

Looks damn good on the PRID Arcee though.

    It sure does!

I'm plannin' on usin' it for Perfect Effects DX01- RC. Much better than the head the figure comes with & its literally just the exact right size too!

    Hey Guys,

I totally appreciate all your compliments.

The "basic" look of Oracle was actually modeled "a while" ago, before either the FE or RID versions were even announced. What you see here, is the final product with a lot of adjustments to maintain a visual balance between the head design and figure(s). My original premise was to create a sexy fembot, transforming or not, for my personal collection. As an artist, I've spent a lot of hours in life drawing/sculpting classes studying the female form. And what really stuck with me was, a women needs to look like a woman, even if she is just a female construct (fema-con). With that said, I felt that maybe TF fans would also appreciate the design but would want a transforming body for it. So along came the FE mold, then the NYCC FE re-paint. She is a good feminine design and a lot of fans like her, but for me, there were issues (height, open hands, long forearms, long neck, posability etc.). However, my main concern was that the FE version wouldn’t be fully transformable with the Oracle design attached. Believe me, I seriously did, "more" than just consider Oracle for possible use with her. Notice how Oracle's head has a horizontal, oval shape when viewed straight on-this is completely the opposite to the TF Prime design-although oval, her head stretches vertically. This fundamental difference doesn't lend itself very well when the head of the character such as Oracle's, needs to go into a chest designed for a specific shape in order to transform like in the FE version. Actually, I personally don’t mind this fact, as I honestly believe the RID mold is far superior with regards to overall design to her FE counterpart: (i.e. the RID version is an appropriate deluxe scale height, has excellent gripping hands, good overall anatomy and she's easy to transform). Ultimately, the RID version was the way to go, since there weren't as many spacial constraints with regards to accommodating a different shaped head than the original during transformation.

I hope a friend's work in progress below will drive home the point. He chose to use the RID body to create her omage. And in my humble opinion, it looks fantastic!! BTW that head was printed in "Frosted Ultra Detail" for the smoothest finish. But I would maybe even recommend the white, transparent or regular frosted detail as you’d want to keep as much detail as possible in her face. Please let me know what you think.

after reading your post, i payed close attention to how the FE arcee transformed.
And i saw what you mean about your custom head being wide, and the original head being tall. Even if the head mount was modified to attach to the FE mold, it would not fit in its vehicle mode. :(

But still an awesome design, that now had me debating about the PRid Mold (something i skipped because i already had the FE version in blue 7 pink)

but if someone could photoshop the above pic so we can see what a tall oval version of this head would look like, as opposed to the wide oval (that would be great). I am just curious how it would look (and i have no photoshop skills of my own).

This is exactly what this figure needed.
