really wishing for a greenlight head hehehe

my temptation is whether to do my take on her g1 color scheme or use energon arcee as a guide. or do both. of coarse this means getting 3 prid arcees ... no 4 for tempest. so long money ...

Seriously? I had no idea they were doing that. I thought it was all in-house. That's why they can't get pricing down.

Well the head and that paint mod look incredible.

I'm quite fond of her myself.

Edgy is good, but SEXY is better. lol. Fembots/Femacons are the best!!

Thanks, I just wish I could crank them out faster. There are so many things I want to do, my head's about to explode. lol.

A million thanks man. The support is more than appreciated!!

Yeah, I would have loved to talk to you. You guys are AWESOME. It makes the many sacrifices of choosing to be an artist worth while. I give it my all in every design. Believe me, a lot of care goes into making them. Now if ahem...Hasbro would just give me a call. I'd love to do heads for their subscription service figures, repaints and the annual TF club figure. There are so many things I could do with their library of TF figures. I'll throw in writing their bios for no additional charge!! Actually, I specialize in organic modeling, and would love to take a crack at some GI JOE's. Oh and the new JEM doll line. Fashionably bold and Totally Outrageous!!

A "biased" opinion would be to do everything. All your TF's need girlfriends.

Unfortunately, I just got word, Shapeways experienced some issues with Hurricane Sandy-being that their production facility for the US is in New York. According to their updates, they should be up and running by Saturday or so. So please bare with me as it'll be an additional 4 day delay with my test prints.

With regards to the fembot, an homage to her is on my shortlist of things to do, but honestly it will be a while before a model is completed and ready to purchase, as it takes quite a bit of trial and error to get these just right, both aesthetically and functionally. I wouldn't recommend waiting on her to place an order. Besides, if you plan on using the RID Arcee mold, she is still available at Games, Toys, Action Figures, Collectibles, and Gifts - HasbroToyShop.com for $14.99. There's my plug Hasbro!! Who love's you baby? LOL!!!

Yup. They've used Solid Concepts, a local print shop here in So Cal. I use to use them too when I worked on Sons of Aegea a few years back. BTW that's where they printed the first full size IRON MAN armor that Robert Downey Jr. wore.

Also it was cool meeting with you at the show man. And what you did with Tempest was GORGEOUS!! I honestly wanted to take her home with me. You should definitely post a picture.

oh if your doing the girlfriends then i guess we'll be seeing moonracer soon?

well id like a chromia head so thats 1
    acree head thats 2
    paradron medic head thats 3
    energon arcee homage thats 4
4 prid arcees that must be bought! ugh ... lol
no 5 for another project ... so long paychecks!

im also debating on a metal head. thing is id like to repaint the entire bot to make it, you know, METAL. and maybe have a friend for Grindcore. still stuck on the color scheme though.

My only comment is that I love the girls. As for Metal Head, he's definitely one of my favorites. I got a lot of praises for him at the TF meet up last weekend. Very cool because he's not a homage to any character, just a dude with Ash's personality from the Evil Dead series. I would love to do this for a living and add to the TF Universe but if TF fans are willing to accept at least some of my characters, and add them to their collection, that'd be the next best thing.

What?!! Are you pulling my leg.

okay.. I'm getting me an Arcee head now after seeing it in person. The rest are looking sick! Such a unique style. I am HUGE on the fact that a face can make or break a figure.. and it;s good to know you work the same way.

Thanks man. Huge fan of your work! Your builds, paint-ups and life drawings are Fantastic.

I've been told that I have a very distinctive style. Be it mechanical or organic modeling-my style always seems to carry over. Once you're familiar with my work, you can always spot it.

Yeah, the face/head design is definitely up there when designing TFs. Proportion and color are two others. I've seen your work, so I know you're keen on those two as well. Although they're robots, they're suppose to be sentient beings, so you should always give the faces as much "life" as possible, without making them look too organic. Its often a difficult balance, but if I get it right, it completes the figure.

I'm glad to report that the Shapeways website is back up after a week of power outages due to the huge storm on the East Coast. TF fans can start ordering again. As for the Oracle Ver.2 head, I don't expect any issues when it arrives. It'll be shipped out on the 14th so I'll probably receive it by the 20th. As soon as this batch arrives, I'll start a new thread for her so people won't get confused with this one. I'll also post a link to the Oracle Ver. 2 head for those of you who are interested. Hopefully I can do the same with the other new models/characters that are coming in this shipment. I'm every excited to see how they turn out.

Just a shout out, I'll be at The Designer Con, in Pasadena CA, at the Pasadena Convention Center this Saturday, 11-4-2012, displaying a project I'm working on with The Barber's Son Studios. I'll have a few sets of the molded/color casts Apex head and weapon sets there I also did with them for those who are interested. If anyone is in the area please check it out.

    Thanks again

For the music characters I'm doing, I'm finding it a bit difficult to create a good instrument that can double as a weapon but at the same time be built in such a way that it could be printed at a reasonable price, since the majority of cost for shapeway prints are the materials used.

The PRID Arcee mold is the way to go for females, since most male bodies, even if Fem, are a bit of a stretch for me to be use as a female body, as I'm big on anatomy and proportion.

Thanks a bunch man. Yes, it'd be very cool if Hasbro does do a repaint on PRID Arcee, in pink, sky blue, green, orange etc...I'm just saying.

A million thanks man. And yes, I hold fembots/femacons in high regard.

If everything works out in this new batch of prints, it'll make sense to make an homage of him.

re: music instrument weapons - how about microphone nunchucks/a mike stand that straightens into a spear? A double bass/riot shield with baton, for all your rockabilly needs. Similarly, a banjo/buzzsaw. I know they're not the most METAL instruments, but c'mon, there have to be some hillbilly space robots.

Presently working (albeit SLOWLY) on a FE (g1 nycc repaint) Arcee with your head, ordered one in clear.. and 30 seconds out of the box neck snapped.. ::shrugs:: since I got it to mod for FE Arcee. have since bored most of her head out, and in the process of getting a (gundam) ball joint socket in there.. once in will paint the head to match... keep in mind this in the 1st time I have EVER modded something this far.. so be patient.. but I have dry fitted the head and.. It FITS in her chest! so as soon as I have it the way I like it I'll post some pics... THANX Tecrom!

Would this head fit on a vehicon? Something about the Vehicon's bot and alt mode screams Arcee to me for some reason.

Unfortunately I don't own a Vehicon, but I can see how it could visually work with that mold. If you pick up the Oracle vers. 2, in a week or so when it becomes available, you could try. Obviously you'd have to do some mods so the head can attach itself to the Vehicon mold. Looking at some pics online, I can see how you see Arcee in that mold. The lower torso of the Vehicon is definitely an hour glass shape which could work as a female. I'd recommend the RID version of the Vehicon rather than the FE version if you want to try, as its a bit smaller than the FE version which would lend itself to work with Oracle's head. The Oracle Vers. 2 head measures 13.52mm width x 15.16mm depth

I considered the stand up bass as a possible instrument as I like the Rock a' Billy look of Stray Cats and bands of the 50's. But I've been told that TF fans don't like shields for their bots. Also having two mics would be a bit off for me, and I'm not too sure about a spear as a weapon for those characters, even though it'd definitely keep print cost down. I am leaning towards the Banjo as a buzzsaw or maybe a ukulele as a club of some sort. Probably the banjo/buzzsaw as the space hillbilly theme seems fun. Again, not really Metal though. But I may have to deviate from that theme. Hey, thanks for for the suggestions. Please keep them coming.

I'm glad you like my Oracle sculpt. I'm glad to say I just received notice that she was finally shipped out this morning from NY and I should have her by the middle of next week along with a few other models. Its seems like Art school is "slowly" paying off. But here's hoping you find uses for my other models too. Thanks for the support.
