PRID kup hood flap mod

Hey everyone, heres a quick mod for the hood flap on PRID kup/ironhide. The friction hinge is cut off and replaced by a suitablly sized ball joint. small divots were made in the flap itself so the ball joint is securely in place. The size of the ball is important...too wide and the flap wont fit in the hood, too small and it will pop off too easily. I used a ball joint from the hip tftm deluxe brawl. Now the flap can be swiveled around to lay flat against the truck windshield.

That works. I thought the ball joint would bother me in alt mode, but it looks like it's supposed to be there. Nice job.

its actuallly not very obvious in alt mode, and I prefer the slight discontinuity to the large flap chillin out behind his head in robot mode

Why not add clay or putty to it so that it covers the ball joint and it can still function the same way just let the putty/clay cure til it's hard and paint over it

just something I thought would work to solve the issue

that'd work, even some thin styrene on top. personally I dont mind that much. This took me at most 5 minutes to do..

It's a real shame that mold doesn't already have a swivel joint for that hood flap. It's really my only issue with it. I did find a way to at least keep it folded back against the windshield. All you do is fold it all the way back, then push the flap forward slightly. It barely dislodges it from the joint just enough to keep it in place.
