    LEDs

I was planning on doing a big Power-up Optimus project, but decided to wait and see what the Fans Want It jet pack looks like. So I figured I'd try installing some LEDs in Jetfire.

Big thanks to Matt from RED for the parts!

    7-17-14 Update

I did a little painting on Jetfire last night. Probably can't really tell unless you closely compared him to the stock toy, but I painted in some details. I tried dry-brushing his face a little but got too much silver on. Next time I think I'll dry brush more of his body and dust some black on his face to counter the extra silver...

I keep forgetting I have Jetfire. I don't go into my aerial Autobot bin too much, so those guys are unfortunately left alone a lot. I can't seen a whole lot of paint changes just of yet. But those electronics make me cringe, I would have no idea how to even start getting those in to figures. Anyway, it will be interesting to see where this goes.

    Thanks Chris!

One of the original circuits broke, so I replaced it with the battery and case linked in this post:

Those make LED work so much easier!

Somehow missed this thread when it was originally posted, so I'm glad it got bumped. Nice modifications hthrun! I'm going to have to consider the knee mod for my Jetfire. I like that the stock knees give him that frail look, but it is a bit of a pain to stand him up and the modified knees do look good. After doing the mod, is it possible to have him stand in his original pose, or does it necessitate clicking the knee joints all the way forward to have him stand more upright? I'd really prefer the option of doing either way.

Thanks LemonPrime! I'm still able to get mine to stand in the old pose, he's just harder to balance. But yeah, he can still stand without posing the knees all the way forward...

You planning on giving the same dry brush treatment you gave to his face to the whole figure? Or just touching him up?
