TARN -IDW (D.J.D Team 1 out of 5 )

My only major criticisms is that I'm pretty sure the side panels on the tank mode aren't the same shade of blue (if blue at all) as Mindset was, and that his arms are pretty small. Paint the blue sections purple and maybe try to beef the arms up a little, and that will be perfect.

That being said, everything else bout him is AMAZING. Great work!

Now sell him to me or make me one as well.

This is just perfection. You have no idea how tickled I am to see three IDW customs on the main Radicons page and have them all be awesome. This needs to be something I can buy at a store. Oh please Hasbro do figures like this...

Excellent! The fact you got it so close AND kept it a true transformer with a great alt mode speaks volumes for your abilities.

absolutely spot on, just perfect. I am going to have a go at tarn too soon, I haven't done any customs in ages but the djd have given me motivation to have a go again. I wanted to do my own take but after seeing how accurate yours is I can't see him any other way, I might try and experiment with some other moulds just to see.

I decided leaving the treads unpainted for I don't really have a clue if they supposed to be purple or dark grey. Also, this light blue still blends okay with the whole paint scheme and make him look kinda wider for the altmode. I may paint them up with the correct colours of they eventually give us a full view of the altmode in the comics.

Like I said to Ryoku, those blue tread sections were kept unpainted because I didn't have a clue what would be the right colour to use, due to the lack of better coloured images of the altmode in the comics. Actually I think the unpainted pieces blend well with the altmode and kinda break up with the dull grey of the other parts I painted. I may paint it purple or even other colour eventually if I can ever get a better coloured view of the original Alex Milne's altmode concept.

I too get very happy to see people thinking out of the box and bringing these new IDW awesome concepts to reality.

Although I know that depending of the character it is utterly impossible to make an accurate or even close custom figure, still I will try to make this DJD team as accurate as I can, by using what I've got in my junk boxes.

Nice one! I followed every step of your custom, and it turned out pretty well, I must say. Don't know how it would have turned out if all of you didn't discuss about it in the thread I started for looking out for a Tarn custom ;D
