Wow! Not only is this looking great, it's priced quite reasonably.

    Are these easy to paint?

Hi Transformed, Shapeways material is generally easy to paint, just like most model kit plastics. You just need to do the usual things like priming, light coats of paint and protective clear coats. No worries!

I ordered one in WSF polished. I'll see how it turns out when it arrives.

Nice. The original fusion cannon doesn't look too bad though, albeit its largeness.

I've never ordered something from Shapeways before, so I have to ask, when I order one, will it be painted? Thanks!

Shapeways does provide dyed variants of their Strong Flexible material, and their Alumide material is a natural silvery gray, but it will do you best to purchase standard White Strong Flexible and do the painting yourself. It will end up looking much better.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately I'm not much of a painter at all, but this set is awesome. I'll think of something.

Well I got mine in WSF polished. It actually came out pretty decent. It does fit together a little loose, but considering it will get painted that's probably actually a good thing. It does still hold together on it's own. The blade turned out quite nicely. The area you have to push the pin into to hold the blade on was still pretty tight even in WSF polished, so I did have to trim that a little. But overall it all fits quite nicely and looks GREAT!!! I won't be able to paint mine until warm weather returns, but fakebusker did an amazing job on this thing.

    Thanks for sharing, Mugen!
Polished WSF does look sharp on that model, and I'm glad the fitting turned out right!

Too bad about the weather though. I'd like to see them painted up all nice and stuff.
