Nice updates. Liking them. As for the back of the knees, since you put a 5mm peg, you can probably have a cover for the back then.

These look really great so far. How much height will the thigh extensions add? Also on the crane arm relocator, is it big enough so that it is equal in height to the top of the back of the crane as it is plugged in?

G.I.EDDIE's right. I like how the cuts are done on the shield extensions...

Echo, can you do a mock up pic of the shield extenders together with the Crane part. Thanks. ;)

Wow, this stuff is looking pretty great. I am definitely interested in seeing how this all turns out, and if it becomes available on Shapeways, or otherwise.

    Thanks guys.

Okay, added a wing with slightly reduced inner chamfers, and examples of the crane mount with the wing extensions attached. Only one combo seems to make a cool sheild (first one)...still haven't quite figured out how to make a nice handle in the sheild without ruining the aesthetics of the crane holder.

In terms of Gatchaman's question, when installed, the black part of the crane will be visible...about 0.200" above the top of the green, and you'll see either side of it. I think teh crane mount would be huge if it covered the black mount. Once installed (and the crane peg is towards the edge of the crane) it will hang down to the bottom of Heavyload's legs, about paralell with the new extensions, conincidentally.

    Oh, I see now...

I thought they were going to the sides, much like the chest shield.

    Still looks cool. ;)

If you have an interest list or anything, please add me to it. Those thigh extensions are ingenious. I really like how you can simply paint them rather than your stupidly expensive 3rd-Party figure. I will absolutely pick up those extensions.

    Hey guys,

    Thanks for all the interest!

Here's a bit more detail on how I'm doing this:

    1. My next step is to order an Alpha set from Shapeways, measure all the parts, ensure they fit well and are sturdy

    2. Next, paint and post pictures here

    3. Get feedback here, then fix any issues

    4. Make the second version available publicly on Shapeways (in which case any of you could order a set--I'll offer a few variants--legs only, wings only, legs and wings, arms only, complete kit, etc.)

    5. Evaluate a cast set so they are molded in color (need help)

As such, I'm not sure a list is needed...but I'll do my best to pm everyone here when I reach step 3. Sound good?

I'm pretty excited about this project too, so I'm going quickly and plan to order very soon!
