Can you do a mock-up pic of how it would fit on Herc's hand. Thanks. ;)

I'm currently using the Drill from Composite Version Ka Gurren Lagann.

I'm very interested to see how the drill turns out. I don't know where I'm going to get the money to invest in all these parts for Hercules, but I want them.

bummer I must have just bought
Version 2 before you added V3 . I was wondering why my Crain mount wasn't holding. Maybe I'll get a new one when I order the drill and other parts.

^^ No, you got the correct kit--at the time you purchsed V3 was current and believed to be the correct fit.

But because I noticed a few people's were loose, I made an improvement and released updates--basically this is the V4 kit.

How loose is yours? Is it really bad?

Sorry about this guys...it fit perfectly on mine, I guess I had a minimum tolerance Dr. Crank crane port...

I put three or four layers of paint around the peg and it fits super tight now but, now that you've released it in polished, I'm gonna order the wing extensions and the crane part again...

Edit: Sorry I haven't posted pics yet echo... I've been painting and modding Herc since last Wednesday! I hope to have him finished up tomorrow, after work? If so, I'll make sure to post a pic or two :)

Let me know when you order, Mirage.

** TO ALL BUYERS WHO'VE HAD CRANE FIT ISSUES. PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I'LL PROVIDE YOU A $5 DISCOUNT ON YOUR NEXT PURCHASE AT SHAPEWAYS** Thanks.

Okay, super-big update tonight. I'm absolutely stoked!!!
    Have a look...

First, we have the new 'crotch flaps'. These are sligthly wider than the shipping units, just to reduce that lankiness factor. I've really stuck with the existing design, just added a bit of width and thickness.

    Here's the part:

Next, I went back and substantially revised the 'latissimus dorsi' to fill out Hercules underneath Dr. Crank. I've modified them so they snap together, thereby making the parts more likely to mount to the vehicle modes or robot modes. I'm going for an engine look. Cost should be about the same. Plus it might be cool to make them two colors. Have a look:

As requested by Daimchoc, here are pictures of the drillbit installed!

Or on the forearm, careful...it's pointy!

And lastly...here's the fun pic...a before and after with the following bits installed:

    -crotch flaps
    -thigh missiles
    -lats
    -drillbit

And of course there's the facecovers for EG and MB in this kit.

Tell me what you think guys. Suggestions on styling most welcome--especially the front of the 'lats'.

My goal is to get these ordered this week so don't hold back!!!

I've checked on here from time to time, but not followed it religiously so I have a question. Echo, are you planning on making covers for Exgravers fists to cover them in alt and gestalt modes?

    Sweet!

Oh yea, I forgot about the fist covers. As Sentinel asked, are these going to be available in this next kit as well, Echo?

Echo, I just looked back at the drill attachment and it seems a bit small.

It looks pretty good...the drill design looks real nice too, but I've never been gaga over the concept like others...larger like daim said wouldn't hurt...

The only thing I think could use some work IF it's even possible...and maybe you tried already and it didn't look right...but I think the lat pieces would be better if they didn't cover the wheels...if they maintained about the same thickness as the side pieces already on HL...and also, by adding the lat pieces, the lights (I think they're lights) get covered...maybe incorporate the light looking things onto the front of the cover design?...they are fairly common on real giant dump trucks...

Ya know, with so much work going into HL, I wonder what a completely redesigned larger Shapeways one would cost?...:D

Awesome. These all look fantastic, I will definitely be getting these sets at some point. Everytime I have gone to order the first one something has come up, and I haven't been able to. But I will be fun to get both at the same time, too.

Looks fantastic, are you going to make diferent packs and the option to buy pieces alone like in the first pack?

Well those are just photomanips, so they aren't 100% precise...so here's a better reference--take Herc's hand and stretch it out...the drill comes to the tip of his pinky finger--about 2" long. The base is 1.25" in diameter. Still too small? Another factor here is cost...

Yeah, I sat and stared at the lats yesterday for like a 1/2 hour, even got my wife to look at it, and we both agreed something is 'off'. It's been a frustrating part to design. It's funny I was thinking lights too. But I didn't think about exposing the wheels--good suggestion. I'm going to try another version soon.

Yeah, I'd love to do a larger HL. What's funny is with enough time I could defintely do the CAD. Seriously. If someone out there can find help me find a good manufacturer, I'll design it.. Heck, if I knew TFC would pick it up I'd design it for them and let them go to their manufacturer...it's their IP...and I think a fair number of people would buy it.

Lolzzz...yeah, it's never stops. Well that said I'd like to finish these last few parts (stil a couple of nice surprises to come for Herc) and move on to a new figure. I have a huge lineup of projects just waiting to be finished, started, or re-started. ;)

^^I looked into it a bit, but ended up thinking of a huge part that would cost too much money. Do you have a concept in mind? Can you make a digibash for me?

    ________________

In terms of the LATS, I got frustrated with the CAD and did some sketches instead...

One idea in there--include a second wheel for HL! That could be interesting...but hard to line up.

    Here's where I'm settling:

I'll probably do the CAD tomorrow...

Them sketches look super cool!...I really like the new lat pieces...they look very promising...the added lights look great!...would it still be a two piece design?...how do they attach to HL?...interested to see how they look protruding out further than HL...at least in sketch form it looks pretty cool like that..

I too really wish you could do a bigger HL for TFC...that would be phenomenal!

Oh, also, if you designed fatter front tires for HL, I'd be all over that!...
