Another Armada Articulation After An Afternoon

This is my second attempt at articulating Armada Megs... first time I tried using a junker Energon Jetfire, b/c I don't have a Cybertron Jetfire to use like others have. Didn't work, and I didn't like it.

This time, I used a junker Chewbacca for the hips and thighs, grinding away enough to use the original Armada Meg's knee connection point. I did a little L-shape grinding to give it a better surface for gluing, and it seems to have worked.

As you can see, articulation is great in robot mode, but it looks like I'm going to have to grind down his squarish hips if I want to get the tank mode right... I'm a little hesitant to do this though, as I'm not 100% sure it will look better... opinions?

Still a WIP... thanks for looking

EDIT:
I found a workaround by mis-transforming him... if I don't swivel the hips and just pivot at the thighs I can get this acceptable configuration:

Now to paint, and maybe get him some head claws...

Awesome, I'll have go try this, junker Chewbaccas are plentiful on eBay. I did ths with Armada Tidal Wave, But Megs needs it bad. Thx for the tips.

BTW, I too removed his horns, they look ridiculous.

I know, right? I really wish the seeker molds had this too.

Alliteration!
My Megs was a junker too... in fact, I've NEVER had one that
came with horns, as I got all mine from ebay.

I really never liked the robot modes for Chewbacca and Han
anyway. Good luck w/ yours!
I'm halfway on the horns... I have a lot of Megatrons already w/o,
and I might be able to make some substitute ones.

I actually did consider using a junker Powerglide's legs at one point,
but they seemed too thin and gangly. At least I kept Chewie's
below-the-knee-swivels in.

Gold-Plastic-Syndrome? Must be why I keep breaking mine at the
arms. Hope the legs hold up at least. Anyway to help prevent
breakage?

Thanks for the tips and comments!

The alt mode suffers quite a bit from this, but the bod mode looks pretty nice.
